Adhesive bonded joints are being used in many structures in view of weight reduction. Therefore it is important to evaluate the bonding strength and the stress singularity at the interface edge. In this paper the boundary element results for the single lap joints having different thickness of adherend are presented. On the basis of this results the effects of the bonding length and adherend thickness on the joint strength are estimated by using the stress singularity parameters.<br/>

In this paper as the fundamental study on effcient evaluation of adhesive butt-joint strength evaluation parameter at the interface were discussed. The method for evaluating strength of the adhesive butt-joint without cracks was established by boundary element stress analysis with regard to stress singularity. The substituting extrapolation method as an effective method to obtain the bonded interface edge stress singularity factor K utilizing stress on the bonded interface edge according to the various fillet length and the adhesive layer that is one of the typical bonded-joints used as structural material, was suggested.<br/>
