This study analyzed the effect of the farm’s sense of community on participation satisfaction by participating in the contract cultivation of onions. To this end, we investigated the participation satisfaction with the sense of community’s emotional connection, fulfillment of need, membership, and influence. According to the analysis of the sense of community of onion farmers, the definition of need, membership, and influenced participation satisfaction and were statistically significant. It was also shown to affect sense of community in the order of membership, Influence, fulfillment of need, and emotional connection. Therefore, it is necessary to form a continuous relationship with the leader and Nonghyup, to lead to improved farm income, induce pride as a member of participating farmers, and form a positive perception among onion farmers.

Magnetic bearings are being actively adopted by the turbo-chiller industry because of their higher efficiency during partial load, quieter operation, and smaller footprint than that which machines with ball bearings provide. Since magnetic bearings are open-loop unstable, feedback control is necessary. In the industry, traditional PID-based control is preferred to model-based control, because of its simplicity. When traditional control algorithms are used, significant resources are required to obtain and tune control parameters, which is an impediment to the widespread use of magnetic bearing technology in the industry. In this paper, we propose a mixed optimization method by combining genetic algorithm and sequential quadratic programming. To obtain the initial guess to be used for the mixed optimization, a phase-margin maximization algorithm is also proposed, based on the rigid-body model of the system. Mixed optimization results in suitable control parameters in less than 2.8% of the time it takes a genetic algorithm only to find similar solutions. The proposed optimization also ensures the robustness of the control parameters. The output sensitivity measured from a prototype compressor with magnetic bearings confirms the validity of the control parameters.

Heat pump systems offer economical alternatives of recovering heat from different sources for use in various industrial, commercial and residential applications. Heat pump becomes a key component in an energy system with great potential for energy saving. This paper presents the design process and experimental results of oil-free water-source heat pump system. A set of experimental tests was first carried out to examine the performance of heat pump system under three different operating conditions.
