A highly compact and thermally efficient water cooled oil cooler for automotive use without offset strip fin and casing is developed in this study. The study result has shown that by eliminating the fin and casing in the oil cooler the manufacturing process and cost and can be simplified and reduced greatly without sacrificing the thermal capacity. The oil cooler developed in the study uses the embossed pot type heat transfer core element design instead of offset strip fin and eliminates the outer casing for coolant water flow by applying specially made parallel loop flow design. In the study the thermal design program for the present oil cooler also was developed and validated experimentally.<br/>

This paper presents a discussion of the development of a viscous fan clutch with continuous linear variable speed control function for engine cooling system to improve cooling fan noise reduction and the overall fuel efficiency of the engine. It is well known generally that the operation of the engine cooling fan is one of the major noise. Vibration sourse in engine as well as the major power consumption device in engine. In the present study is has been shown that a viscous fluid fan driving clutch. For small and mediun diesel engine class(1 to 3.5 ton class). Having linear variable speed control function corresponding to cooling load and low temperature hysteresis has been developed. The results obtained has shown that the proposed design viscous fluid fan clutch can reduced the engine fan operational noise. Vibration as well as the cooling fan driving horsepower significantly.<br/>

The roll-forming process is often used to manufacture long, thin-walled products such as a pipe. The final cross-section is a comparatively simple open-channel, a closed tube section or a complex profile with several bends. In recent years, that process is often applied to the bumper rail in the automotive industries. In this study, a optimal roll flower model and proper roll-pass sequences can be suggested by analyzing total effective strain, thickness and longitudinal strain according to the roll-pass with FEM simulation. And also effects of the process parameters on the final shape formed by roll forming defects a evaluated.

In roll forming process, a sheet metal is continuously progressively formed into a product with required cross-section and longitudinal shape, such as a circular tube with required diameter, wall-thickness and straightness, by passing through a series of forming rolls in arranged in tandem. In this process, each pair of forming rolls installed in a forming machine playa particular role in making up the required cross-section and longitudinal shape of the product. In recent years, that process is often applied to the bumper beam in the automotive industries. In this study, a optimal front bumper back beam manufacturing technology, model deign and proper roll-pass sequences can be suggested by forming number of roll-pass and bending angle. And also effects of the process parameters on the final shape formed by roll forming defects were evaluated.
