The Induction Heating equipment is widely used for steel plate heating in the surface treatment process of steel industries. In the case of thin steel plate, for high efficiency We need the high frequency induction heating equipment more than 100㎑. But it is difficult to realize the high frequency and high power at the same time. That's why most high frequency equipment more than 100㎑ has been imported from advanced Manufacturer. This paper will describe the development of 100㎑/5㎹A inverter module for 100㎑/20㎹A induction heating. We used the LCL resonance topology and ZVS/ZCS switching technology. And we also developed the low loss gate drive board and plate busbar inverter stack. We proved the performance by various experiment.

The authors, R&D member of DAWONSYS and Soongsil University, are developing 5000㎾ smelting inverter system by 2007 under the sponsor from Korea Energy Management Corporation As a part of the project, 2500㎾ inverter system has developed in 2005[6], and installed in real production site, and has been running for 7 months successfully. This report deals with the test result of 2500㎾ smelting inverter system and design for 5000㎾ smelting inverter system which is final target of this project.

The microwave power supply is mainly composed of the cathode power supply supplying the beam voltage and beam current of the gyrotron and body power supply for the single depressed collector (SDC) operation , which requires the cathode voltage/current of 80 ㎸/24 A for the cathode and +24 ㎸ for the body. This paper is describing the power supply system for the gyrotron of KSTAR.

The smelting system using induction heating technology has many advantages over conventional fossil fuel regarding energy efficiency, environmental aspect and so on. This paper introduces the principal and technical trends of induction heating technology, and describes recently developed 2500kW induction smelting inverter. The developed inverter is a series resonant type using high speed Thyristor (SCR) and employs state-of-art digital controller using DSP.

The computation of design parameters and the electromagnetic analysis of 0.5 Mw- class Induction furnace with 3-dimensional modeling are introduced by using FEM techniques, And model of flux distribution and eddy current distribution induced in induction furnace are analyzed and presented. It is more necessary that for melting industry depending on metal material field, the design technique of induction furnace is quite urgent at exchanging introduction of technology between metal material and electrical energy conversion by power electronics field.

This paper proposed the extraction method of reactor parameters in atmosphere plasma power supply. This methods is performed by detection of phase difference between inverter voltage and current, and extraction of impedance through active, reactive power. The validity of the proposed scheme is investigated through simulation results.
