Verisimilitude (`vraisemblance` in French), as an appearance of truth, refers to a neoclassic idea of reality, morality, and universality. It denotes also, in all arts, literature and theatre, in particular, the extent to which a work of fiction exhibits some realism, or otherwise conforms to our sense of realistic credibility or prbability. What will be so its definition, function, status in pansori? It is indeniable that like all other fictive genders, pansori also depends on certain linguistic textual narrative form. But as the narration in pansori being actualized by vocal, musical and mimetic reprsentation before some audience, the narrative versimilitude in pansori is far more flexible than in others and tends to even yield to diverse aesthetic aspects of playing artistry. The purpose of this paper is so to examine the correlations between narrative verisimilitude and playing artistry in pansori. This, by adopting `versimilitude` as a main operative concept for approach to textual effects in general, and establishing a double complementary and oppositive relations between:recit vs discourse, narrative vs descriptive.

This is the first of six papers in which I try, within title of Local Characteristics of Pansori & Means of its Globalization, to find and suggest the means of globalization of pansori. Each of th six will place the focus on : ① Linguistic and Cultural Communicability of Narrative Details, ② Singing Possibilities Following Translation in Some Foreign Languages, ③ Commercial Value as Performance Spectacle of Pansori by Tranlated Version, ④ Long Key Strategies by Stages for Globalization of Pansori, ⑤ Neccessity of Practice of Pansori Researchers, ⑥ Supplementary Strategies and Expected Effects, etc. In fact, as in all other sections, the globalization of pansori should be discussed in terms of communicability between singer and spectators, and that not only in artistic and musical sensibility but also in content of narrative details, in which play a lot of linguistic and cultural factors. It's why this study considers narration as fundamental before all other components of pansori, and suggest to begin with translation in some foreign languages of korean folk songs or principal passages of the five korean pansori works. In order to verify these possibilities, this study is also designed to present for example some of my own practices of pansori performance by translated French version, and the results of comparative analysis between Korean original and translated French version. It is revealed that, in condition of certain lebel of knowlege in pansori of translators, possible is pansori singing by translated French version, with gains as well as losses in realization of musical, poetic, narrative contents and general artistic effects.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the modes of description and their figurative effects in representation of pansori, Chunhyang-ga, in particular, establishing oppositive and complemenary correlations between recit vs discours, narration vs descripti

Verisimilitude(`vraisemblance` in French), as an appearance of truth, refers to a neoclassic idea of reality or credibility on the reader`s sense and within the context of the fictional world. It denotes also, in all arts, literature and theatre, in particular, the extent to which a work of fiction exhibits some realism, or otherwise conforms to our sense of realistic credibility or prbability. What will be so its function, status and narrative aspects in Chokpyok-ga(or Song of Red Cliff), one of the five principal works of pansori? It is indeniable that like all other fictive genders, pansori also depends on certain linguistic textual narrative form. But as the narration in pansori being actualized by vocal, musical and mimetic reprsentation before some audience, the narrative versimilitude in pansori is far more flexible than in others and tends to even yield to diverse aesthetic aspects of playing artistry. The purpose of this paper is so to examine the correlations between narrative verisimilitude and playing artistry in Chokpyok-ga. This, by adopting `versimilitude` as a main operative concept for approach to textual effects in general, and concentrating upon the aspects of lack of versimilitude along the current of narrativo-description in Chokpyok-ga. We hope that the results of this synchronic approach would contribute to clarifying those of the diachronic approaches.
