Mechanical and physical properties of wood fiber for the reinforcement of thin-sheet cement products were investigated. The slurry-dewatering method followed by pressing was used to manufacture the products. Mechanical and physical properties of wood fiber reinforced cement composites were assessed with flexural strength, density, and water absorption. The results obtained in this study were analyzed statistically using the analysis of variance in order to derive statistically reliable conclusions.

Plastic shrinkage cracking occurs at the exposed surfaces of freshly placed concrete due to consolidation of the concrete mass and rapid evaporation of water from the surface. This so-called shrinkage cracking is a major concern for concrete, especially for flat structural such as pavement, slabs for industrial factories and walls. This study has been performed to obtain the plastic shrinkage properties of hydrophilic fiber reinforced mortar and concrete. The results of tests of the hydrophilic fibers were compared with plain and polypropylene fibers. Test results indicated that hydrophilic poly vinylalcohol fiber reinforcement showed an ability to reduce the total crack area and maximum crack width significantly( as compared to plain and polypropylene fiber reinforcement).

The purpose of this research was to evaluate on the properties of fresh and hardened high-performance concrete(HPC) incorporating high-reactivity metakaolin(HRM). Setting time, heat of hydration, compressive strength, resistance to chloride-ion penetration, and repeated freezing and thawing test were carried out in order to investigate the properties of fresh and hardened state concrete. The properties of the HRM concrete were also compared with those of the portland cement concrete and silica fume(SF) concrete. The laboratory test results indicate that HRM material can be used as a supplementary cementitious material to produce high-performance concrete.
Bottom ash를 사용한 저강도 고유동 충전재의 강도특성

This research was undertaken on the use of bottom ash as a fine aggregate in Controlled Low-strength Material(CLSM). The mixtures contained constant fly ash. And four different level of bottom ash with fly ash contents, 25 %, 50 %, 75%, 100 % are investigated. Mixture proportions were developed for producing CLSM at three 28-day strength levels: removal with tools (less than 7 kgf/cm<sup>2</sup>), removal by mechanical means (less than 200 kgf/cm<sup>2</sup>) and removal with power equipment (less than 83 kgf/cm<sup>2</sup>). To obtain these strengths, cement contents of 30, 60, and 120 kg/m<sup>3</sup> were utilized. The compressive strength properties support the concept that by-product bottom ash can be successfully used in CLSM.

The growth in concrete structures repair has prompted major efforts to develop high early strength concrete. The internal or external restraint of thermal shrinkage movements could thus generate tensile stresses in concrete structures if it is used rapid setting repair concrete. Restrained shrinkage and thermal stresses could produce microcracks in concrete which increase its permeability and accelerate its long-term deterioration under weathering and load effects. This study aims at evaluation and increase of the engineering properties of high early strength concrete using regulated set cement.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the performance of wet process sprayed polymer mortar for repair of concrete under combined aging conditions. For wet process sprayed polymer mortar, fly ash and slag effect were investigated with the replacement level of 10 ~ 14% of cement weight. Tests of compressive strength, chemical resistance, repeated freezing and thawing were conducted. Test results show that the wet process sprayed polymer mortar, when using fly ash and slag, were effected on the improvement of the compressive strength and durability performance.

본 연구의 터널 내화용 시멘트계 재료의 역학적 특성 및 내화성능을 평가하는 것이다. 이와 같은 목적을 달성하기 위하여 본 연구의 과정은 세단계로 나눌 수 있다. 첫 번째 과정은 서로 다른 종류의 재료를 이용하여 내화시험을 실시한 후 기본 배합비를 결정하는 것이다. 두 번째 과정으로 기본 배합비의 성능을 평가하기 위하여 내화특성 시험을 실시하였다. 세 번째 과정으로 내화용 시멘트계 재료의 성능을 목표성능 및 기존 상용제품과 비교하였다. 개발된 내화용 시멘트계 재료가 목표값을 만족하면 연구를 멈추었고, 만족하지 못한다면 첫 번째 과정으로 돌아가 반복 시험을 실시하였다. 연구결과 개발된 제품 및 상용제품 모두 화재에 의한 폭렬이 발생하지 않았다. 또한 개발된 내화용 시멘트계 재료는 밀도가 큰 골재를 사용하여 우수한 압축강도, 휨감도 및 부착강도를 보여주었으며, 충분한 화재에 대한 저항성을 확보할 수 있었다. This study aims at evaluation of the fire resistance performance of cementitious materials for fire protection of tunnel. For this purpose, the research procedure was divided into three parts. First, base mix proportion with different material type were determined by fire test. Second, the fire test of cementitious materials for fire resistance were performed on base mix proportions to evaluated their performance. Third, the performance of cementitious materials for fire resistance compare to the target value and existing commercial products. If the performance of developed cemetitious materials for fire resistance were satisfied the target value, this studies were stopped. But, this research return to first process if the performance of cementitious materials for fire resistance are not satisfied the target value. As a result of this study, the spalling did not happen for develop and existing commercial product. Also, developed cementitious materials for fire resistance are shown with excellent compressive strength, flexural strength, and bond strength, because it used a height density aggregate. And developed cementitious materials has sufficient resistance for fire.
터널 내화용 고강고 습식 스프레이 폴리머 모르타르의 화재 발생시 내부온도분포

콘크리트는 열전도열이 작은 불연성의 재료이다. 그렇지만 콘크리트는 화재에 저항하도록 설계되지 않으면 열을 받을시 공극압과 내부인장응력이 발생하여 폭렬이 발생한다. 본 연구에서는 터널 내화용 습식 고강도 스프레이 폴리머 모르타르의 성능을 실험적 및 수치해석적으로 평가하였다. 이를 위하여 화재시험을 수행하였다. 시험은 RABT 온도가열곡선을 이용하여 내화로에서 수행하였으며, 터널 내화용 습식 스프레이 모르타르의 피복두께에 따른 온도분포를 평가하였다. 실험 및 수치해석적 분석 결과를 기본으로 하여 터널 내화용 습식 고강도 스프레이 폴리머 모르타르의 적정 피복두께는 4㎝이상으로 결정하였다. Concrete has advantages in fire situations as it is non-combustible and has low thermal conductivity. However, concrete that is not designed against fire can experience significant explosive spalling from the build-up of pore pressures and internal tensile stresses when heated. In this study, the performance of wet-mixed high strength sprayed polymer mortar for fire resistance of tunnel system was evaluated by experimentally and numerically. The fire test was performed in fire resistance(electric) furnace according to RABT(Richtlinien fur die Ausstatung und den Betrieb von Straβentunneln) time heating temperature curve, so as to evaluate the temperature distribution with cover thickness of wet-mixed high strength sprayed polymer mortar for fire resistance of tunnel system. Based on experimental results and numerical analysis, the proper cover thickness of wet-mixed high strength sprayed polymer mortar determined the more than 4㎝.
