During the two-month period of July 1 to August 30, 1972, public health surveys were conducted via mail and through visits on the managers of 42 homes of the aged in the nation concerning the operation of homes of the aged. Through the analysis of the resultant data, the following conclusion has been reached: 1) There are a total of 211 managerial personnel in the homes of the aged across the country. They were broken down into 116 male personnel (55 per cent) and 95 female personnel (65 per cent). The average number of managerial personnel per home of the aged was five. 2) The average age of managerial personnel was 44.7 years. The age group of 30 of 39 years constituted the greatest proportion, 26.0 per cent, The average age of male personnel was 45.1 years, slightly older than that of female personnel, 42.7 years. 3) The average longivity of employment of managerial personnel was 3.7 gerial personnel years. That of managerial personnel at public facilities was 2.5 years, far shorter than at private facilities, 4.9 years. 4) Library, recreation room, and bathing facilities were installed at 16.7 percent, 59.5 percent and 69.0 percent of the homes of the aged, respectively. 5) Sideline facilities were operated at 73.0 per cent of the homes of the aged. Out of them, cottage farm product processing constituted the greatest proportion. 23.0 per cent. 6) As for the health condition of the accommodated old people 365men (36.7 per cent) and 921 women (69.3 per cent) complained of "aches" Aching women thus numbered 1.9 times more than aching men. 7) From among all the aching people at the homes of the aged, psychotic and neurotic patients constituted 40.5 per cent and 31.3 per cent for men and women respectively. The second greatest proportion of complaints was constituted by hypertention, 17.8 per cent and 16.8 per cent respectively. 8) Part-time physicians were assigned to 71.4 per cent of the homes of the aged, and nurses were assigned to 33.4 per cent. 9) In 1971. 50.0 per cent of the aged people accommodated at these facilities underwent health check-up throughout the country. 10) As for the environmental sanitary status, all the rooms were sterilized while 57.1 per cent of the toilets, 59.6 per cent of beddings, and 78.1 per cent of bathrooms were sterilized, all below the required standards.

For practical research on local certification matjips, this study examined the impact relationship between the image of local certification matjips and their perceptual values, price sensitivity and revisitability. In addition, we looked into the impact of perceived value on price sensitivity and revisitability of local certification matjips. And we looked into whether price sensitivity affects revisitability. First of all, the image of a local certification matjips has been shown to give positive influence on perceptual values and willingness to revisit. Second, the perceived value of local certification matjips was found to have a positive influence on price sensitivity and revisitability. Third, the price sensitivity of local certification matjips was found to have a positive effect on the degree of revisit. On the other hand, images of local certification matjips have no significant impact on price sensitivity.

This study was carried out to analyze the quality characteristics of croceine croaker Gulbi according to brine treatment and drying time. To develop a brine agent for croceine croaker, the effect of fermented product (mixed soybean and anchovy) content (0, 0.5, 1, 3, 5%), and salinity (3, 5, 7, 9%) in brine agent on quality characteristics of croceine croaker Gulbi were investigated. The DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging activities of the brine agent and croceine croaker Gulbi increased according to the content of the fermented product. Also, the content of amino-type nitrogen increased, and VBN, TBARS, and acid values decreased according to the content of the fermented product. Because there was no significant difference in quality characteristics at contents above 1%, the content of fermented product for bine agent was selected as 1%. As the salinity of the brine agent increased, the content of amino-type nitrogen increased, while histamine, VBN, TBARS, and acid values decreased. As a result of salinity evaluation, 7% salinity with the best quality improvement effect was selected. This study further investigated the effects of drying time on the quality characteristics of croceine croaker Gulbi. Results indicated that the drying for 72 h have a significant quality advantage in croceine croaker Gulbi processing.
