This study was conducted to investigate the effect of bourse shoots on the fruit growth and development, mineral content and quality of apples. Three hundred bourse shoots bearing fruits were selected from 10 trees randomly in the experimental orchard of Chonnam National University, Naju, Southwestern Korea. Bourse shoot length and fruit diameter were measured at twice on July 20 and August 20 of 2001. Harvested fruits were divided into 6 groups according to bourse shoot length; 0㎝, 11 to 20㎝, 21 to 30㎝, 31 to 40㎝, and longer than 41㎝. Fruit characteristics such as (soluble solid content, flesh firmness and acidity) were measures just after the harvest. The contents of Ca, Mg and K were analyzed of fruit peel, flesh and core tissues. Most bourse shoots stopped growing after late June, while water-sprouting shoots stopped after late July. Results showed that fruit L/D ratio was higher when bourse shoots were 31 to 40㎝ in length. Especially soluble solid content and fruit firmness were higher in the fruits of bourse shoot 21 to 30㎝ in length. Calcium contents of the fruits also were higher in flesh and skin tissues when length of bourse shoots was 21 to 30㎝, while no significant differences were observed in other mineral contents.
친환경 자재가 배 과원의 병해충 방제 효과 및 과실 품질 특성에 미치는 영향

Organic materials, such as chitin incubated solution (CIS) combined with neem oil (NO), nano silver silica (NSS), and Bordeaux mixture (BDM), were applied with and without agricultural chemicals (AC) (insecticide and fungicide) to investigate scab and mealybug occurrences and fruit qualities on "Niitaka" pear trees in orchards in 2006. Fruits and leaves grown under CIS+NO without AC had less than 30%, scab occurrence, but CIS+NSS or CIS+BDM without AC had higher scab occurrence. Organic materials with AC decreased the scab to less than 20%. All treatments decreased mealybug occurrences to less than 10%, except for the fruits grown under CIS+BDM without AC. Fruit qualities varied among the treatments. Hunter value a, representing for the redness degree, was higher for fruits treated with CIS+NSS and CIS+BDM without AC than those with AC. Fruits treated with organic materials without AC had greater total phenolic and flavonoid compounds as well as antioxidant capacity in flesh and greater total phenolc compounds and antioxidant capacity in peel than those treated with the AC.
키틴분해 미생물제와 석회보르도액 처리가 배 과원 검은별무늬병 및 과실품질에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 친환경 살균자재로 알려져 있는 키틴분해 미생물과 석회보르도액을 ‘신고’ 배나무에 처리하였을 때 검은별무늬병 방제율과 과실품질에 미치는 영향에 대해서 조사하였다.유기농 과원에서 생산된 과일은 관행으로 재배한 과일에 비교해서 유기물과 토양 칼슘과 마그네슘 농도를 증가시켰다. 저농약으로 재배된 관행 과원에서는 상당한 검은별무늬병 발생이 억제되었으나, 친환경 살균제를 이용한 유기농 과원에서는방제효과가 없었다. 관행 재배된 과실은 석세포를 감소시키는영향이 있었지만, 유기농 과실에서는 3%이상의 많은 석세포함량을 보였고, 과실 경도를 증가시켰다. 석회보르도액은 당도와 진한 적색의 과실을 생산했지만, 수확된 과실의 표면에 얼룩이 많이 발생하였다. This study was conducted to investigate the effects of chitin incubated solution (CIS) and bordeaux mixture (BDM) on soil chemical properties, scab occurrence, and fruit quality of ‘Niitaka’ pear (Pyrus pyriforia) in an organic orchard. Organic orchard systems increased organic matters, Ca and Mg concentrations in soils compared to the conventional orchard. Conventional cultivation system reduced the scab occurrence but the organic systems did not. Organic cultivation system significantly increased the stone cells in the flesh part of pear fruits, which organically treated-fruits had more than 3% of the stone cells. Organic cultivation system resulted in increasing partly fruit firmness compared to the conventional fruits. BDM treatment increased fruit soluble solids and dark red color on the fruit surface, but caused the fruit surface staining at the harvest stage.
