A very fast solenoid valve has been developed to modulate the pressure of fuel pressure in the injection system of a D.I. Diesel engine. The working process of solenoid has been analyzed and calculated for each characteristic period. The modulated pressure by solenoid valve varies needle lifting process and therefore cause different injection rate. An investigation into the application of electronically controlled solenoid valve to reduce emissions of NOx and soot has been carried out in both conventional and newly designed solenoid valve actuated injection system. Conventional and electronically controlled comparisons of emission products were made under 1500 rpm engine speed, 3/4 load conditions. The outlook for the use of electronically controlled fuel injection technology is described in the light of the results obtained.<br/>

Most of fuel-injection system operated with mechanical methods are difficult to control the in quantity and injection timing as well as injection rate exactly. Moreover high pressure injection scheme is never be realized with conventional one. On the other hand, serious air pollution can be lessened with injection system equipped with those functions. Therefore, electronically controlled Unit Injector(UI) appeared to satify above mentioned desires. However, it is still difficult that the most important part, especially solenoid valve, is analyzed precisely, because of the existence of complex combination of electro magnetics, electrics and dynamic problems.<br/> In this study, experimental and theoretical analysis are accomplished for understanding of solevalve characteristics and further its design. As the result, the follows are obtained 1) As the increase of wire diameter, the response time became shorter and optimal inductance existed in relwith the response time and wire diameter. 2) According to increasing input voltage, the tracforce increased, otherwise the response time was shortened. 3) As the increase of armature stroke, the traction force decreased and the response time became longer.<br/>
솔 - 젤법으로 제조한 Pd 계 삼원촉매 반응에서 Ceria 의 영향

The effect of ceria on the catalytic performance of Pd-only three way catalysts prepared by sol-gel method was investigated by XRD, XPS and synthetic exhaust gas reaction with GHSV of 72,000 h^(-1). Optimum Ce:Zr mole ratio to stabilize ceria against thermal aging and enhance the catalytic performance was 7:3. It was found that the physical mixing of Pd catalyst, ceria stabilized with zirconium et al. and bulk ceria showed significant improvement in three way catalytic performance and thermal stability. Thermal stability of the catalysts prepared by sol-gel method were more superior than that of the catalysts prepared by impregnation method.
