The aim of the study was to examine the relationship between Motor Ability and aerobic capacity based on the fact that GMFCS(Gross Motor Function Classification System) is closely related to Shuttle Run Test in adults with cerebral palsy(CP). The subjects were ambulant adults with CP(N=46; GMFCS Level Ⅰ=14, Ⅱ=29,Ⅲ=3). Motor Ability and aerobic capacity were measured in this study. The Shuttle Run Test I was developed for adults at GMFCS level Ⅰ, and the Shuttle Run Test Ⅱ was developed for adults at GMFCS level Ⅱ, Ⅲ. As a result, GMFCS in CP showed significant difference in distance(m) test of Shuttle Run Test(p<.05), GMFCS Level was significantly larger than either Level Ⅱ or Level Ⅲ(p<.05). Also, time(min) of Shuttle Run Test showed significant difference in level of motor functions(p<.05), and Level Ⅱ was significantly larger than Level Ⅲ(p<.05). In conclusion, exercise function of CP has influence of aerobic capacity. Especially, GMFCS had close relations with exercise distance(m) of Shuttle Run Test which is an indirect measurement of aerobic capacity.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of aerobic exercise with unstable supporting surface on cardio-pulmonary function and balance ability. Methods : This study was performed on 20 subjects. The subjects were divided into two groups; stable supporting surface group(Group Ⅰ, n=10), unstable supporting surface group(Group Ⅱ, n=10). The groups performed the aerobic exercise, which is jump rope exercise, 2 times a week for 4 weeks. Results : The results were as follows. There was statistically significant difference of cardiovascular endurance in Group Ⅰ(p<0.05), and there were statistically significant difference of cardiovascular endurancedynamic, OSI and dynamic APSI in Group Ⅱ (p<0.05). However, there were no statistically significant difference in pulmonary functions which were FVC and FEV1 in Group Ⅰand Group Ⅱ. Conclusion : As a result of this study, aerobic exercise with unstable supporting surface have a potential to induce positive responses in cardiovascular endurance and dynamic balance ability of healthy adults.

Puritan self and Society in Anne Bradstreet's Poetry

엔 브�M스트리트의 작품에는 시인으로서, 청교도로서, 그리고 여성으로서의 갈등과 이에 대한 화해의 면모가 복합적으로 드러난다. 그녀는 사회가 부과하는 여성으로서의 한계를 받아들였다는 점에서 소극적이라는 비판을 받기도 하지만, 시인으로서 자아를 적극적으로 표현하고 확인하였다는 점에서 최초의 미국 여성 시인으로 자리매김되고 있다. 본 논문은 이러한 상반되는 경향을 시인의 이원성으로 보고, 이와 같은 특성이 청교도적 자아와 사회와의 관계를 어떻게 반영하는가를 살펴 본 것이다. 아울러 이를 위해 17세기 미국 청교도 사회의 역사적, 문화적 배경을 검토한다. 시를 쓴다는 것은 브�M스트리트에게는 자아 확인의 중요한 수단이었지만, 이는 청교도 여성들에게 있어서 일종의 금기 사항이었다. 왜냐하면 청교도들은 남성 중심의 사회 건설을 목표로 하였기 때문에 여성의 위치를 가정에 국한시키려고 하였다. 더군다나 그들은 지적인 여성들에 대한 편견을 노골적으로 드러내었기 때문에 문학적 소양을 갖춘 여성 작가들은 상당한 사회적 위험 부담을 감수해야만 하였다. 이에 대해 브�M스트리트는 "서시"에서 겸손의 미덕을 지닌 주변인으로서의 여성이라는 고정 관념에 대한 '자기 비하'와 창작 의지의 표출인 '자기 방어'사이의 갈등을 폭넓게 그려내고 있다. 특히 시인은 여성이라는 타자의 위치에 만족하지 않고, 예술가로서의 최소한의 정당한 몫을 주장하기도 한다. 브�M스트리트는 시를 통해 문화적 제약과 개인적 감정사이의 갈등과 긴장을 표출하려고 하였다. 시인은 자유로운 창작 활동을 가로막는 다양한 사회적 장애물들을 포용함으로써 이들을 거꾸로 작품의 소재로 활용하였다. 따라서 그녀의 시가 남성 중심의 청교도 문화에 의해 위축되었다고 보는 시각은 잘못된 것이다. 시인이 청교도적 자아와 사회와의 갈등을 초월하여 화해의 성공적인 순간들을 포착해 낸 곳도 바로 자신의 시에서이다. 달리 말해서 자아와 사회에 대한 시인 자신의 솔직한 감정의 표현과 조화로운 대응은 브�스트리트 시의 큰 강점이 된다고 볼 수 있다.
