차세대 인터넷서비스 기반으로서의 웹서비스에 대한 고찰

According to the rapid increasement of web usage, an appropriate model which supports systematically the web-based application-to-application interactions and the approach which can integrate the new distributed computing platform and the existing environments have been investigated. The web services has emerged as the solution to these needs. This paper describes the background of the emergence of the web services and the definition and characteristics of web services. Then, after explaining the operation mechanism of web services, the core techniques which are essential to implement the web services and the implementation cases are examined. Lastly, the future of web services has been mentioned. 웹의 이용이 급속하게 증가함에 따라, 웹 기반의 어플리케이션 대 어플리케이션 상호작용을 체계적으로 지원하는 적절한 모형과 이러한 새로운 분산 전산 플렛폼을 기존 환경들과 효율적으로 통합할 수 있는 방안에 대한 요구가 발생했으며 이에 대한 해결책으로 웹 서비스가 등장하였다. 본 고에서는 먼저 웹 서비스의 발생 배경과 정의, 특징 등에 대해 언급한다. 그리고 웹 서비스가 작동하는 원리에 대해 상세히 설명을 한 후, 웹 서비스를 구현하는데 필요한 핵심 기술들과 실제 구현 사례들을 살펴본다. 마지막으로 웹 서비스의 향후 발전 방향에 대해 언급한다.

대부분의 선진국 및 여러 개발도상국에서 디지털도서관 연구에 많은 관심을 보이고 있다. 많은 디지털도서관 연구 프로젝트들이 정부 기관과 국가 및 국제 기관들에 의해 재정적인 지원을 받고있는 반면, 몇몇 프로젝트는 특정 대학과 연구기관 그리고 도서관들에 의해 단독 형태 혹은 협력 형태로 운영되고 있다. 영국의 ELINOR 프로젝트, 영국 eLib(Electronic Li-braries) 프로그램의 첫 번째 두 단계, 미국 DLI(Digital Library Initiative)의 첫 번째 단계 등과 같은 몇몇 디지털도서관 프로젝트는 현재 종료되었지만 몇몇 다른 프로젝트들은 전 세계의 다른 지역에서 현재 진행중이다. 본 고에서는 다양한 연구자들이 제시한 디지털도서관의정의 및 특징들에 대한 설명으로 시작하여 전 세계의 다른 지역에서 현재 진행중이거나 막 종료된 몇몇 주요 디지털도서관 프로젝트에 대해 간단히 언급하였다. 그 다음으로는 디지털도서관 연구를 16개의 주요 항목으로 구분하여 리뷰하였다. 본 리뷰를 위한 문헌은 LISA CD-ROM 데이터베이스의 탐색과 DIALOG의 문헌정보학 데이터베이스 탐색을 통해 확보하였으며 탐색 결과는 D-Lib Magazine과 Ariadne의 다양한 호들의 탐색과 디지털도서관 연구에 참여하는 다양한 기관들의 웹사이트의 탐색으로 보완되었다. 짧은 기간동안의 디지털도서관 연구를 통하여 많은 것을 배우게 되었다는 사실을 본 리뷰를 통해 알게되었다. 그러나 많은 이슈들이 해결되어야 한다. 본 고는 디지털도서관을 연구 단계로부터 실제 환경으로 발전시키기 위해 가까운 장래에 해결해야 할 연구 이슈들을 언급하는 것으로 끝을 맺는다. Digital library research has attracted much attention. While many research projects are funded by government agencies and national and international bodies, some are run by specific academic and research institutions and libraries. While some digital library projects, such as the ELINOR project in the UK, the first two phases of the eLib(Electronic Libraries) programme in the UK, and the first phase of the DLI(Digital Library Initiative) in the USA, are now over, a number of other projects are currently under-way in different parts of the world. Beginning with the definitions and characteristics of digital libraries proposed by various researchers, this paper provides brief accounts of some major digital library projects that are currently in progress, or are just completed, in different parts of the world. There follows a review of digital library research under 16 major headings. Literature for this review has been identified through a search on the LISA CD-ROM database and a Dialog search on library and information science databases, and the resulting output has been supplemented by a scan of the various issues of D-Lib Magazine and Ariadne, and the Web sites of various organizations and institutions engaged in digital library research. The review indicates that we have learned a lot through digital library research within a short span of time. However, a number of issues are yet to be resolved. The paper ends with an indication of the research issues that need to be addressed and resolved in the near future in order to bring the digital library from the researcher's laboratory to the real life environment.

Web기반 한국통신 통합연구정보 서비스시스템 구현

경쟁이 치열한 정보통신 시장에서의 우위 확보를 위한 필수 도구인 연구개발을 효율적으로 수행하기 위해서는 사내외에 산재한 최신 연구정보를 신속히 수집 및 가공하여 이를 필요로 하는 이용자들에게 적시에 제공해야 한다. 본 고에서는 한국통신 통합연구정보서비스시스템의 특징과 그 유형을 살펴본 후, 시스템 구축과 컨텐트 구축의 두 부분으로 나누어 소개하고자 한다. 그리고 향후 추진방향에 대해 언급할 것이다. It's necessary to provide the current research information to users to support R&D activities which are essential to cope with the competition within the telecommunication market. This paper reviews the characteristics of KT Integrated Research Information Service System based on Web environments. The paper is composed of system development, content building and future development plan.

디지털 도서관 구축을 위한 표준에 관한 고찰

최근 정보자원의 효율적인 관리 및 활용을 위해 국내외적으로 디지털 도서관 시스템 구축작업이 활발히 진행중이다. 이러한 시스템 개발자 관련 표준을 적용함으로써 상호운용성을 확보하여 시간과 노력, 비용을 획기적으로 줄일 수 있다. 따라서 본 고에서는 표준의 의의 및 개발과정과 표준의 종류, 주요 표준화기구에 대해 언급을 한 후, 디지털 도서관 시스템 구축을 위한 주요 표준에 대해 설명하고자 한다. Many digital libraries are constructed for effective management and use of information resources around the world nowadays. While constructing these systems, it is possible to reduce the time, efforts and expenses through getting interoperability by applying the standards. The authors will describe the benefits of standards, development process, types of standards, standards organization, key standards for digital libraries.

CD-ROM 네트워크 시스템 개발(開發)을 통한 정보(情報) 서비스 - 한국통신(韓國通信) CDLIB 시스템을 중심(中心)으로 -

한국통신연구(韓國通信硏究)센터에서 구축한 CD-ROM 네트워크 시스템인 CDLIB(CD-ROM Library)에서는 연구센터 내 근거리통신망(近距離通信網)(TRAN)에 접속된 모든 이용자들이 여러 대의 CB-ROM 드라이브와 이 드라이브에 놓인 디스크에 저정(貯藏)된 대량의 정보를 공유(共有)할 수 있도록 하였다. CDLIB 시스템은 CD-ROM 네트워크 서버와 파일 서버 그리고 이용자들이 네트워크를 통하여 CD-ROM 디스크를 검색할 수 있도록 해주는 소프트웨어로 구성되어 있으며, 이 시스템은 근거리통신망(近距離通信網) 환경에서 CD-ROM 자원을 공유(共有)하는 데 있어서 비용대(費用對) 효과면(效果面)에서 유리하고, 높은 시스템 성능(性能)을 얻을 수 있는 장점(長點)을 가지고 있다. CDLIB system, a CD-ROM network system constructed in the KTRC, made all the users connected with KTRC TRAN share the many CD-ROM drives and the massive information on the CD-ROM discs. The system is composed of CD-ROM network server, file server and the software which allows the users to retrieve CD-ROM discs through the network. This system has the following strong points : cost-effectiveness in the aspect of sharing the CD-ROM resources in the LAN environment and high system performance.
