Using 275 fifth and sixth graders, this study examines what are the factors in the teaching behavior of effective teacher, and if there is any difference between fifth and six graders and between males and females in the perception of effective teacher. The findings show that although the factors are not consistent with theoretical factors assumed by researchers, six factors(clarification, organization, diversification, motivation, behavior management, and learning management) are identified as teaching behaviors of effective teacher. The findings also show that fifth graders perceive organization, diversification, and learning management as teaching behaviors of effective teacher, and females perceive clarification, organization, diversification, motivation, and behavior management as teaching behaviors of effective teacher. Grade and gender differences in the perception of effective teacher, and six factors as teaching behaviors of effective teacher are discussed.
