With more attention to zero energy buildings, the application of VIP(vacuum insulation panel) into building has been considered as one of new energy efficiency measures with some benefits, including high insulation value. Depending on installation methods, VIP applied in building may cause thermal bridge at the connecting areas of VIPs, which leads to reduce the thermal performance of building envelope. This study is to analyse the impact of thermal bridge at the building wall with VIPs on its U-value, using THERM, two-dimensional duilding heat-transfer modeling software. The results show that the air gap at the VIP connecting area caused the thermal bridging effect that increased the U-value, and the inserting flexible insulation into the gap between VIPs improved the thermal performance of the exterior wall unit.

BIPV systems can play a role as a multi-functional building component, which generates electricity and serves as part of building envelope. It can be regarded as new architectural elements, improving the appearance of building. The application of PV modules on roof has an advantage over wall applications as they receive more solar radiation on PV modules. But BIPV system using crystalline silicon photovoltaic module into building facades or roof could raise their temperature that results in the reduction of PV system's electrical power generation. In this paper, the aim of this paper is to analysis the performance of solar roof tile according to the resistnace of ventilation. The electrical efficiency of the Solar roof tiles at outdoor was analysed with thermal and electrical characteristics.
