We consider the problem of synthesizing an internally stabilizing linear time-invariant controller for a linear tune-Invariant plant such that a given closed loop transfer function is strictly sector bounded. We show that the standard $H{\infty}$ control problem and the $\tau$ -positive real control problem are special cases of sector bounded control problem. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a controller are obtained. The state-space representation for strictly proper controllers are given in terms of solutions to ARIs or AREs.
Fast Acquisition of GPS L5 PRN and NH Code Using L1 Signal for Software Receivers

As an effort towards the modernization of GPS, the L5 signal has been transmitted from Block IIFsatellites since 2010. The spreading code of the L5 signal is 10 times faster than that of the L1 signal, which makesthe acquisition processing time of L5 considerably longer than that of L1. To reduce the L5 acquisition time, wepropose a fast L5 acquisition method using the L1 signal, and a new NH code phase search method. We comparethe acquisition times between the case of using L5 only and that of using the L1 acquisition. We then present theprobability of detection for the proposed acquisition method and the new NH code phase detection method usingMonte Carlo simulation in order to analyze the performance of the proposed methods.

This paper considers a decentralized control problem of dicrete LTI systems which have time delay between interconnections. This paper provides sufficient conditions for the decentralized controller to exist as a H$\infty$ disturbance attenuation ${\gamma}$ of a scaled system and shows that the controller can be designed by using the discrete standard $H_{\infty}$ control theory.

In this paper we consider an optimal configuration problem for redundant inertial sensors which have uncertainty such as misalignment, scale factor error. The optimal configuration problem is treated from the viewpoint of navigation accuracy. We propose a necessary and sufficient condition for the optimal configuration of redundant sensors with no uncertainty, and a sufficient condition for the optimal configuration of redundant sensors with uncertainty. Finally we propose a condition for the optimal configuration based both navigation performance and FDI(fault detection and isolation).

This paper considers the decentralized control problem of linear time-invariant interconnected systems with delays. A decentralized output-feedback controller to obtain both stability and performance of the interconnected system is designed using the standard $H_\infty$ control theory, This paper provides sufficient conditions for such a controller to exist and provides an output feedback controller.

Galileo is the new European Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), similar to the GPS of theUnited States and GLONASS of Russia. Galileo- and GPS-modernized signals use the binary offset carrier (BOC)modulation to use the same frequencies for their compatibility. Galileo E1 OS (open-service) signal uses the CBOC(composite BOC) modulation, which produces the ambiguity problem in the acquisition process because of themultiple side-peaks in the correlation functions. This paper proposes new delay-and-multiply (DM) acquisitionmethods to eliminate the ambiguity and proves that the resulting correlation functions of the decision variableshave a triangular shape as observed in the PN code of the legacy GPS L1 signal. The noise characteristics andperformances of the proposed DM methods are theoretically analyzed and compared with the conventional method.

We consider a class of large-scale interconnected time delay systems and investigate a decentralized robust passive control problem. Sufficient conditions for unforced interconnected uncertain systems with time delay to be robustly stable with extended strictly passivity is given in terns of algebraic Riccati inequality and linear matrix inequality. The decentralized robust passive control problem for norm-bounded and positive real uncertainty is shown to be converted to extended strictly positive real control problem for a modified system which contains neither time delay nor uncertainty.
