Perovskite-type Ba-Cu계 촉매의 물성분석 및 VOC(벤젠)의 연소특성

Catalytic oxidation characteristics of benzene(one of important source of volatile organic compounds : VOCs) was investigated in a fixed bed flow reactor using perovskite-type Ba-Cu catalyst. As operating variables of experiment, reaction temperature(200-590℃), benzene concentration(l,000∼2,500ppm), space velocity(5,000∼20,000hr') were applied. The experimental results showed that the catalyst calcinated in 650℃ have the biggest BET surface area and pore volume and is composed of 60%-meso pore and 40%-macro pore. The conversion of catalytic oxidation of benzene was increased with decreasing space velocity, while it was decreased with increasing inlet concentration.

Drying characteristics of powder and particulate samples were investigated using thermogravimetric analyzer(TGA). Drying tests were carried out in the gas temperature range of 40~100℃ with isothermal condition. Drying characteristics such as drying time, drying rate, equilibrium moisture content(Me) and critical moisture content(Mc), as well as effective diffusivity(D_(eff)) were measured. The experimental results showed that the drying rate was mainly dependent on the existence of combined water, particle size and internal structure of solid sample. It was also found that the equilibrium moisture content of solid samples decreased with increasing gas temperature, while the effective diffusivity was increased with increasing gas temperature.
