For transportation on sea and land, container is the essential matter in logistics system. For space utilization and reducing load in transferring and landing, however, rigid container is inefficient. To solve this, a development of foldable container is needed. To fold a container, it needs a folding system which can endure high pressure. Thus, a design and development of mid or large sized hinge model for 20ft foldable container which can endure high pressure is presented in this paper. For the design and development of the hinge model, previously produced hinge models are referred and then hinge model is designed. To design a proper model, a simple mechanical calculations based on Solid mechanics theory is performed and dimensions of hinge model are optimized. To prove the optimized dimensions, structural analysis of the hinge model is performed. Through the results of structural analysis, future directions and plans of this study is presented.
