In the water purification plant, the mixture of water and chemical from the mixing basin enters the flocculation basin. The rotating flocculators are generally used for the efficient flocculation of dregs. In this paper, the performance of flocculators of a vertical paddle type, widely used in the typical flocculation basins, and a hydro-foil type, recently disseminated in the field, are compared with each other by use of the numerical method. Also the characteristics and the efficiency are analyzed with CFD techniques. The strain rate and the eddy viscosity are compared for two types to predict the mixing efficiency, and the maximum speed and its location are pursued from the computed data. The hydrofoil type shows that the eddy viscosity is enhanced 1.66 to 3.03 times larger than that of vertical paddle type, and also produced 1.87 to 1.95 times larger flocs for each stage. However, the rapid rotation of hydrofoil may chop the floc to small size due to the higher turbulence intensity. From the result of computation, the strong and weak points of each type have been analyzed for the decision making.
해안림의 방풍 효과에 영향을 미치는 설치 파라미터 분석

The objective of this research lies in the effect of installation parameters influencing on the wind proof performance of the coastal forest for damage prevention. The dissipation ratio of incident wind power is developed as an assessment index to make a lumped parameter study possible. From the real field data of East, West, and South Sea bounded on the Korean peninsula, single and double storied forests were modeled in three-dimensional shape with computer aided design, and so was done the artificial structures such as wind break, sand accumulating fence, and sand dune, etc With a commercial code ANSYS-CFX, the computational result from the comparison of dissipation ratio between single and double storied forest shows the effect of composition, and also the installation effect is investigated for artificial structures with optimal dimension of distance.
유체 구조 연성해석을 적용한 해안 방재림 조성 효과 분석

Recently, there have been many researches to find the method for minimizing the damage from natural disasters. The disasters in the coast such as typhoon and tsunami are being studied to reduce them, and one of possible methods is to locate some structures for the protection of wind and wave. The most eco-friendly method minimizing the destruction of ecological system is to construct the forest of damage prevention, which has been actively investigated for the last decade. However, we know the fact that the coastal forests can reduce the damage of natural disaster, but the mechanism how they work inside the forest and in the flow field of wake is not yet precisely understood, so there has been no quantitative investigation on the damage prevention effect. The real tree is not rigid but flexible, which means that trees are oscillated with the environmental wind, so this effect is not sufficiently considered in the past researches. In this study, applying FSI(fluid-structure interaction) for a single tree model, the effect of energy dissipation is predicted in the wind field around a forest.

목적 : 제2경추 치상돌기 골절의 수술방법중에서 경부 운동제한이 거의 없고 골이식이 필요없는 등 골절부위를 직접 고정하는 전방경유 나사못 고정술을 실시하여 결과를 관찰함. 대상 및 방법 : 1995년 4월부터 1996년 6월까지 본 교실에서 수술을 실시한 18례의 환추축성 불안정증중 type Ⅱ-P 치상돌기 골절 2례에서 전방경유 나사못 고정술을 실시하였음. 결과 : 경부운동 제한이 없이 정상적인 상태로 회복되었다. 결론 : 전방경유 나사못 고정술로서 수술후 즉시 안정성을 회복하였으며 장기간 경과관찰상 골유합이 잘 되었으며 이 방법은 4㎜이상 전위된 type Ⅱ-P 치상돌기골절인 경우에 환추횡인대의 손상이 없으면 가장 좋은 치료방법으로 관절의 유합이 필요없어 운동반경의 제한이 전혀 없었다. Several different methods have been advocated for treatment of the atlantoaxial instability include anterior and posterior fusion methods because of nonunion of odontoid process fracture, especially in type Ⅱ odontoid process fracture. Most surgical stabilizations of displaced Type Ⅱ fractures of the odontoid process use anterior and posterior cervical wiring or plate techniques with Cl-2 arthrdesis. But these procedures have resulted in obliteration of the rotation and flexion/extension of the atlantoaxial complex. In case of type Ⅱ-P odontoid process fracture with intact transverse ligament, direct anterior screw fixation of odontoid process can be a treatment of choice. Between Apr. 1995 and Jun. 1996, 19 cases of at lanto-axial instability was operated in Kyungpook National University Hospital. Among them, 2 cases of anterior screw fixation of odontoid fracture was done The odontoid fractures were stabilized with two 4.0㎜ cancellous screws inserted through an anterior approach to the neck under fluoroscopic control with the skin incision at the C5 level and fracture union and cervical stability were demonstrated without evidence of screw loosening or loss of fixation and neck motion limitation.
