As tourism became an important money making industry in many countries, night exterior lighting also became an important issue. Exterior lighting creates new building images so that night view of urban areas become attractive one. The purpose of this study is to suggest design methodology of exterior lighting by using the RADIANCE lighting simulation program. A design stage high-rise building called MT-130 building was adopted as a sample.

Light is one of the most important design elements in exhibition spaces. Especially day lighting is conventional and recommended practice of ambient lighting for exhibition spaces. Conventionally, designers depended upon scale model measurements for evaluating the daylighting performance of design-stage exhibition spaces. Recently, owing to high-performance computers, 3-D based computer simulation programs are increasingly used for evaluating not only day lighting performance, but electric lighting effects of buildings. The purpose of this study is to suggest the evaluation method of daylighting performance of exhibition spaces using the RADIANCE that is one of the most accurate rendering softwares. In this study Kimbell Art Museum located in Fort Worth, Texas, U.S.A. was adopted as a sample. Illuminance and luminance distributions were simulated using the RADIANCE and compared with the recommended values.

Underfloor air distribution system is generally known to be more energy-saving and provide more comfort as compared with overhead air distribution system. In practice, however, some buildings to which underfloor air distribution system is applied have less effectiveness in saving energy and are getting dissatisfaction with cold draft caused by wind velocity of air distribution in terms of comfort. It is judged that such problems are due to failure to consider properties of underfloor air distribution system in applying it and identical design with the design standards for the existing overhead air distribution system. This study aims at introducing an air conditioning type of the occupied zone for underfloor all distribution system to see its effectiveness in saving energy for air conditioning of the occupied zone through a comparative simulation with the existing air conditioning type.
건축적 적용을 위한 자연채광시스템의 유형별 특성에 관한 연구

It is necessary to provide sufficient daylighting to indoor. Daylighting systems are useful to apply for modern buildings. This study is to suggest architectural application of daylighting systems. By case studies, architectural application methods are analyzed. For the study, the configurations and characteristics of day lighting systems are comparatively analyzed. It will help architectural application of daylighting systems.
사무소 건물의 방위별 유리의 선택적 적용을 통한 냉난방부하 절감 방안

Various design factors of the building are requires for saving energy. Glazing can be a good alternative of reducing excessive load of heating and cooling especially in office buildings with high WWR(Window Wall Ratio). In this study, Window 6.0 program developed in LBNL was used to analyze the glazing and EnergyPlus 6.0 developed in DOE was used to predict heating, cooling load. 12 cases of glazing were used selectively including double low-emissivity glazing, double tinted glazing, double reflective glazing, and triple glazing. The results show that the savings of heating and cooling load due to an application of various glazing types with 8 orientations would be up to about 35% compared to double clear glazing in annual period.
실적자료 분석에 의한 기계설비 공사비 영향인자 분석 및 공사비 예측에 관한 연구

Construction cost for building mechanical system makes up twenty percent of total construction cost. With the growth of industry and living quality, the importance and resulting cost of building mechanical system increase more and more. Thus it is necessary to examine construction cost for building mechanical system closely for the prediction of total construction cost. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing upon the construction cost and construction cost prediction based on the actual cost data for building mechanical system. As results, dominant factors influencing upon the construction cost and construction cost prediction equation for the building mechanical system were deduced.
경기장 지붕의 막구조가 잔디생육에 미치는 광환경에 대한 영향분석

This study was conducted to analyze the effect of roof membrane on light environment that influence on turfgrass growth under domed stadium. Roof structure on experimental plot was constructed with PTFE and PE same as Busan Asiad Mam Stadium Tested turfgrass species were combinations of cool-season grasses(Kentucky Bluegrass, perennial ryegrass, KBG80+PR20%, KBG33+PR33+Fine fescue33%) and warm-season grasses(zoysiagrass, 'An-yang middle-leaf, 'Zenith', Bermudagrass) established with seeding or sodding. The experimental set-up and research work were initiated November 1999 and finished on August 2000 at near Busan Asiad Main Stadium.<br/> By the result of computer simulation of daylight radiant energies on the turf surface were lower than needs of normal sport turf growth. The shortage of radiant resulted pest infection on cool-season grass mixture compared with warm-season. But turf color and density showed the best results on Kentucky bluegrass or its mixture plot. Over all the results showed that the best quality of turfgrass growth was occurred on full sun area, and the next was under PTFE membrane.<br/> The application of artificial lighting system may increase the turfgrass growth under domed stadium(partially) covered with roof membrane.
