        Stilbene ligand‐based metal–organic frameworks for efficient dye adsorption and nitrobenzene detection

        The technological developments of metal–organic framework (MOF) for selec-tive adsorption and sensing have been achieved in recent years. Herein, wereport two stilbene-based MOFs, denoted as Zn3(SDC)3(bpy) (1) and Zn(SDC)(bpy)2DMF (2). MOFs1and2were synthesized in pure form by controllingthe organic linker ratio and were used for the adsorptive removal of dye mole-cules. Despite their low adsorption capacities, the MOFs were more selectivetoward cationic dye (methylene blue) than anionic dye (methyl orange). Theunique fluorescent property of the MOFs was harnessed for the sensing ofharmful organic molecules. Interestingly, the fluorescence of10was quenchedby aromatic analytes containing amine and nitro functional groups. However,20only showed modest fluorescence quenching by nitrobenzene. The quench-ing efficiency of nitrobenzene had a low detection limit for10and20(14.28 and25.42μM, respectively). These MOFs can be used as adsorbents and highly sen-sitive chemical sensors.

        Study of the Dye Adsorption Kinetics of Metal–Organic Frameworks in Aqueous Media

        Water can easily be contaminated by many dye molecules because of its high solubility with dense color. Dye-contaminated water requires purification via the adsorptive removal of dye molecules, employing various porous materials. To increase the removal efficiency and selectivity, demands for developing new metal?organic frameworks (MOFs) for dye removal continue to increase. Herein, we present a study on the dye-adsorption properties of MOFs based on their structures and pore sizes. The effects of dye molecule charge and size were also investigated. Three different MOFs (Universitetet i Oslo; UiO-66, UiO-67, Materials of Institute Lavoisier; MIL-100 [Fe]) and four dye molecules (Methylene Blue, Rhodamine B, Tropaeolin O, and Amaranth) were employed. The results suggest that the surface properties and framework structure of the MOFs affect dye adsorption capacity and kinetics, as characterized by UV?Vis spectroscopy and adsorption kinetics analysis. These results provide opportunities for the development of MOFs for dye removal from aqueous solution.

        국내외 임상시험용 의약품의 치료목적 사용제도 현황

        Unapproved investigational drugs have substantial uncertainty in terms of efficacy and safety. The compassionate use of investigational drugs, nevertheless, provides a patient with a serious disease or life-threatening condition a pathway to access unauthorized medications. This has gained significant traction during the Coronavirus 2019 disease pandemic. We review the laws and regulations of programs in the United States of America, Australia, the United Kingdom, and South Korea, where such programs are currently in effect, specifically on the following aspects: regulations, requirements, eligible patients, charges, and patient safety plans. Additionally, we investigated therapeutic-approval cases in South Korea from January 2016 to March 2021.
