The purpose of this study is to set a relationship between intentional system and spatial orientation, and with space model in the human world to orient yourself is to present the basic spatial concepts. This is composed of parts of intentional system and spatial orientation on the research. Through the study of intentional system which is based on the orientation with Daniel Dennett’s, it suggests the space-model that composed with aspects of intentionality and spatial elements. With space-model and judgement of spatial types, it makes relationship confirm between them. Through this process, following the results of this study were derived. First, intentional stance of space is the key for building knowledge and memories about space, and for identifying external environment images which are experienced in the senses of human. Second, changing the meaning from space to place makes horizons of space broader and creates a new sense of space with put the intentional orientation into the space. Third, this study can make confirm what the aspect of the space-schema-elements for orientation in space, serves as the presentation elements. This study leaps an old-view of the architectural customs about spatial orientation, and creates an opportunity to refine the newer concept of space. This concept of space is a basic essential for ‘site-selection’ and ‘spot-catching’ as an intentional system for spatial orientation and to establish a relationship with human beings in the world of his own orientation to the concept of space.

상호작용 모달리티의 표현모드 특징 - 퍼스 기호학적 접근

본 연구는 상호작용 모달리티(interactive modality) 디자인의 다양한 표현 양태와 특성을 퍼스 기호학적 관점에서 파악하여 상호작용 공간을 읽고 쓰는 문해(literacy)가 가능하게 하는 것에 목적을 둔다. 상호작용 모달리티 디자인은 공간이 사용자와의 상호작용을 가능하게 하는 것으로 공간이 가지는 감각 양상과 사용자의 감각 간 대화적 상호작용을 작동하게 한다. 이것은 발신자와 수신자 사이의 반응과 피드백의 반복이 아닌 기호 의미화 작용으로서 세미오시스(semiosis)를 이룬다. 공간디자인에서 이와 같은 기호의 의미화는 상호작용을 가능하도록 하는 상호작용 모달리티 디자인에 의해 가능하다. 이는 퍼스 기호학적 관점에서 기호의 형식적 조건인 삼원적 요소를 갖춘 기호로서, 상호작용 모달리티의 표현 양태는 퍼스의 범주적 특징을 나타낸다. 본 연구에서는 퍼스의 기호 삼분법에 의해 분류된 10개의 기호 분류와 그에 따른 사례 분석을 통해, 보다 세분화한 상호작용 모달리티 디자인의 표현모드(mode of presentation)를 파악한다. 퍼스의 기호학은 사물이나 사건의 현상을 표현하는 것으로 이것이 세미오시스의 체계이며 이는 기호 작용을 통해 의미 관계를 형성하고 각각의 기호가 표현되는 과정에서 표현의 층위도 기호의 삼원적 관계에 의해 나타난다. 각 기호 분류에 따른 공간디자인 사례 분석을 통해, 상호작용이 가능하도록 하는 공간디자인과 연출 및 매체에 나타나는 표현모드를 확인하였고, 퍼스의 기호 삼분법 분류에 따른 표상체적, 대상적 그리고 해석체적 관계의 특징을 파악하였다. 상호작용 모달리티 디자인은 상호작용 공간을 읽고 쓸 수 있도록 하는 수사적 체계와 기술적 구축 형식 그리고 디자인을 통한 의사소통이 가능하게 하는 기호적 문해 특징을 가진다. This study aims to investigate the various aspects and features of presentation in the design of interactive modality according to Peircean semiotics and to apply the literacy of reading and writing interactive space to them. The interactive modality design, which enables interaction between space and users, creates conversational interaction between the modal aspects of space and the user``s senses. This, in turn, is the semiosis between a sender and a recipient and not the repetition of response and feedback, but a signifying action that creates semiosis. In space design, such signification of signs is made possible by the interactive modality design that enables interaction. Moreover, it is in line with the triadic elements that are the formal conditions of a sign according to Peircean semiotics, while the presentation aspects of interactive modality show Peirce``s categorical features. In the present study, the presentation mode of a more segmented interactive modality design is studied in further detail by categorizing the ten signs according to Peirce``s trichotomy of signs and conducting case studies on them. Peirce``s theory of semiotics deals with the presentation of things and events that, in turn, refers to the system of semiosis. In addition, the layers of presentation of each sign will be depicted through the triad of signs, while their semantic relations are established through semiosis. By analyzing the case studies of space design by the categorization of signs, presentation modes where space design, production, and media space enable interaction are identified, and the features of representamen, object, and interpretant are examined in accordance with the Peircean triadic classification of signs. The interactive modality design has a rhetorical system that enables the reading and writing of interactive space, a technical construction type, and a semiotic literacy that allows communication via design.
