OVPN(Optical Virtual Private Network) based on DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) backbone framework is considered as a promising approach for the future VPN. This paper proposes a new routing algorithm, called PMIPMR(Priority-based Minium Interference Path Multicast Routing) algorithm which finds an alternate route considering node priorities when the congestion is occurred in a network. The PMIPMR algorithm tries to improve blocking probability and wavelength utilization by avoiding congested path for potential future connection requests.

Safety-critical systems related to the railway communications are currently undergoing changes. Mechanical and electro-mechanical devices are being replaced by programmable electronics that are often controlled remotely via communication networks. Therefore designers and operators now not only have to contend with component failures and user errors, but also with the possibility that malicious entities are seeking to disrupt the services provided by theirs systems. Recognizing the safety-critical nature of the types of communications required in rail control operations, the communications infrastructure will be required to meet a number of safety requirements such as system faults, user errors and the robustness in the presence of malicious attackers who are willing to take determined action to interfere in the correct operation of a system. This paper discusses the safety strategies employed in the railway communications and proposes a security mechanism for Korean railway communication system. We present the developed communication safety evaluation tool based on the proposed security mechanism and also evaluate its protecting capability against the threats of masquerading, eavesdropping, and unauthorized message manipulation.

We propose HERAH(Hierarchical Energy-Aware Routing Algorithm for Heterogeneous Wireless Sensor Networks) that is the hierarchical routing algorithm in WSNs and is established on heterogeneous environment. HERAH performs CH selection by considering residual energy level and uses multi-hop communication within cluster. So, HERAH makes improvements in the energy savings and the network lifetime compared with LEACH.

고밀도 파장 분할 다중화 방식(DWDM: Dense-Wavelength Division Multiplexing) 기반 차세대 광 인터넷 백본망(NGOI: Next Generation Optical Internet)의 주요 연구주제 중 하나는 다양한 멀티미디어 응용 서비스들의 서비스 품질(QoS: Quality-of-Service)을 고려한 멀티캐스트 서비스용 효율적인 라우팅 및 파장할당(RWA: Routing and Wavelength Assignment) 문제이다. 특히, 차세대 광 인터넷 백본망에서 망 대역폭의 효율적인 사용 측면의 RWA 문제는 매우 중요한 요소이다. 그러나 기존의 RWA 알고리즘들은 멀티캐스트 트리 형성 시 발생하는 혼잡상황과 경로에 대한 우선순위를 고려하지 않아 성능이 매우 제한적이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위한 방안으로 멀티캐스트 트리 형성시 발생하는 혼잡경로를 피하고 노드의 우선순위를 고려하는 효율적인 우선순위기반 최소간섭 경로 멀티캐스트 라우팅(PMIPMR - Priority-based Minimum Interference Path Multicast Routing) 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안된 알고리즘은 시뮬레이션 결과를 통해 파장 사용률과, 파장 채널 사용률 측면에서 기존의 알고리즘과 비교, 제안된 알고리즘의 효율성을 검증한다. A major challenge in next generation optical Internet (NGOI) networks based on dense-wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) is the provision of guaranteed quality-of-service (QoS) for a wide variety of multimedia applications. One of the critical issues in NGOI is the routing and wavelength assignment problem that is embossed as very important and plays a key role in improving the global efficiency for capacity utilization. But the previous researches had the delay problem, and the path routed by higher priority nodes may be congested and interfere with potential future multicast session requests. To overcome these problems, in this research we suggest a Priority-based Minimum Interference Path Multicast Routing (PMIPMR) algorithm, a new routing algorithm which finds alternative routes based on node priorities and Virtual Source (VS) nodes that has both splitting and wavelength conversion, and then chooses a path that does not interfere with potential future multicast session requests when congestions occur in the network. The PMIPMR algorithm reduces blocking rate significantly and increases the wavelength utilization by avoiding congestion in future multicast session requests.
