An accumulator is used in oil hydraulic system of construction machinery to save energy and reduce a vibration and shock. The use of the accumulator has recently increasing, but the reliability evaluation criteria differs from country to country. So, it is difficult to ensure the reliability whether their performance meet domestic environment and situation. In this study, we introduce the reliability evaluation criteria of the accumulator for construction machinery. Among several type of accumulators, we deal with the diaphragm type accumulator of a small capacity. In order to specify the evaluation criteria of the diaphragm type accumulator, we analyzed the functional requirements of the accumulator and checked the main failure mode of the components. Then, we analyzed KS standards and international standards (ISO, JIS, MIL, and SAE). As a results, we enacted a total of 11 type reliability tests including 4 type comprehensive performance tests, 4 type environmental resistance tests, 2 type stability tests, and a life test.

In recent years, the demand for an onboard scale system which can directly monitor load distribution and overload of vehicles has increased. Depending on the suspension type of the vehicle, the onboard scale system could use different types of sensors, such as, angle sensors, pressure sensors, load cells, etc. In the case of a vehicle equipped with leaf spring suspension system, the load of the vehicle is measured by using the deflection or displacement of the leaf spring. Leaf springs have hysteresis characteristics that vary in displacement depending on the load state. These characteristics cause load measurement errors when moving or removing cargoes. Therefore, this study aimed at developing an onboard scale device for cargo vehicles equipped with leaf springs. A sectional modeling method which can reduce measurement errors caused by hysteresis characteristics was also proposed.

Recently, farm machinery that have improved operational convenience have developed, with the increase in the elderly and female population. This research is related to self-propelled harvester with an electronic controller, and develops a safety module to prevent collision and rollover accidents. In order to prevent collisions, various sensors such as a camera and a radar can be used. However, in this study, we selected four types of sensors that are relatively inexpensive and conducted obstacle detection performance tests. We finally selected one sensor and applied it to the first prototype. We determined the risk of overturning by monitoring the slope of the harvester using an IMU sensor. The prototype met the minimum required performance of the self-propelled harvester in outdoor environments.
