There were many reports relating to a process for assaying the amount of organo-phosphorous compounds which was prosecuted by the steps of 1) oxidizing organo phosphorous compounds to organic phosphorous-peroxides (peroxyphosphonates), and 2) measuring the color-intensity of the compounds formed by the oxidation of aromatic amines with the organic phosphorous-peroxides. According to this procedure, the author assayed the amount of amines by measuring the color-intensity which changes depending upon their concentration. The amines used in this experiment can be classified into three categories according to the different coloring methods described as in the following: 1) diect oxidation(azotization) with organic phosphorous-peroxides, 2) oxidation(diazotization) with organic phosphorous-peroxides followed by coupling reaction, and 3) diazotization with sodium nitrite followed by coupling reaction to azo compounds. Results from the above experiment are summarized as below. 1. Benzidine, phenylenediamine, and hydrazine derivatives were analyzed with good reproducibility and precision in the sample ragne of 4.1×10??∼1.29×10?? mol by direct azotization with organic phosphorous-peroxides. 2. Hydrazide derivatives were quantitized with good reproducibility and precision in the sample range of 1.19×10??∼7.29×10?? mol by diazotization with organic phosphorous-peroxides followed by coupling reaction. 3. Sulfanilamide derivatives were tested with good reproducibility and precision in the sample range of 1.61×10??∼2.87×10?? mol by diazotization with nitrou sacid followed by coupling reaction. In conclusion, the prsent method complements the conventional quantitization procedures which are liable to oxidative deradation and lack of precision due to the use of external indicators.
