We investigated the residual amounts of endosulfan and procymidone taken by vegetables grown in hydroponics culture and field conditions treated with the pesticides in order to evaluate safe cultivation concentration of the pesticides in the vegetables. Endosulfan and procymidone were selected as test pesticides because they have been reported to frequently detect in agricultural products at different concentrations. In hydroponic culture, by Chinese cabbage, procymidone was absorbed 3.8 times higher than endosulfan. The higher the pesticide concentration get, the worse the plant grew. In soil treated with 10 ㎎/㎏ of endosulfan, the pesticide absorbed by Leafy radish, Chinese cabbage and radish was less then their MRLs. In case of carrot, the residue level in soil which did not exceed its MRL was 1 ㎎/㎏. The concentrations of procymidone in soil which did not exceed the MRLs in Leafy radish, Chinese cabbage, radish and carrot were 10, 10, 2 and 1 ㎎/㎏, respectively. Usually aged endosulfan and procymidone residues were less absorbed into crops than the fresh ones. Chinese cabbage absorbed more endosulfan and procymidone than leafy radish, radish doing more than carrot.

Diffusion and accumulation of ethoprophos in fruits such as apple and two types of pears were examined by dipping them into the solution of ethoprophos. The effective diffusivities of ethoprophos at the skin and flesh of apple and pear were determined by simulating their experimental accumulation curves with calculated ones from the model assuming consecutive diffusion of ethoprophos from skin to flesh. Its effective diffusivity at the flesh with higher content of water were higher, ~10-10 m2/s, regardless of the types of fruits, while that at the skin was small, ~10-12 m2/s and increased with the order of ``Niitaka`` pear < ``Whangkeumbae`` pear < ``Fuji`` apple. The variation in the concentration of ethoprophos in its solution did not induce any change in affecting its effective diffusivity at the flesh of ``Whangkeumbae`` pear, but the increase in the concentration caused the increase in its effective diffusivity at the skin. The penetration rate of ethoprophos at the skin was an important factor in determining its accumulation rate in fruits.

The herbicide molinate has been detected with high frequency in the main river during the growing season in Korea. To elucidate the exposure of molinate in agricultural environment, the persistence and the degradation characteristics of molinate were investigated in paddy ecosystems. The half-lives of molinate were 4.1 days with soil aquatic system, and 4.2 days in only aquatic system. Initial dissipation rate of molinate in water was greater with soil aquatic system than that of only aquatic system. Photolysis of molinate was occurred about 31.0% of molinate treated in pure water, when irradiated at 5,530 J/㎠ by the xenon lamp, but its hydrolysis was stable. For the accelerated photolysis of molinate in aqueous solution, several photosensitizers were screened, showing that the hydroperoxide(H₂O₂) and acetone were prominent among the chemical tested. When hydroperoxide and zinkoxide(ZnO) were used as photosensitizer, their photolysis were accelerated greater than 98% and 58% in aqueous solution, respectively. Elution rate of molinate as granular formulations in aqueous system was more than 90% in 30 hour at 35℃. Molinate concentration pattern in paddy water was rapidly decrease from treatment till 7 days in paddy rice field and its half-lives were 3.7 days(Y=1.9258×e<SUP>-0.1865X</SUP>(r=-0.9402)).

In order to select the coating materials to perilla seed for reducing endosulfan residue greenhouse soil, this study was conducted to develop seed coating method and materials and also to evaluate the effects of seed coating on germination and color contrast between soil and perilla seed for convenient sowing work. Talc and kaoline were selected as seed coating materials because easy coating and better color contrast than shell powder or lime. Water was more effective on germination compared to alcohol, corn oil and spray sticker as adhesives for seed coating.

This study was designed to assess molinate fate in the lysimeter by measuring the total radioactivity in the leachate, evolved ¹⁴CO2, and ¹⁴C-residues in soil and rice plant. The amounts of applied ¹⁴C in the leachate from the lysimeter for 20 weeks were 1.05% in 2.31 pore volume (217,465 mL) at the first and 0.34% in the second year, respectively. The amount of ¹⁴CO₂ evolved from the lysimeter accounted for 6.47% and 0.03% of applied ¹⁴C in the first and second year. The ¹⁴C-activities in the soil layer of the lysimeter were distributed 18.0% (1st) and 13.3%(2nd) in the depth of 0 to 10 ㎝, 4.3 (1st) and 1.1% (2nd) in the depth of 10 to 20 ㎝. Most of the applied ¹⁴C was detected in the top 20 ㎝ soil layer. Total ¹⁴C in rice plants grown at lysimeter were detected 11.46% of applied ¹⁴C. 11.11% in straw, 0.24% in brown rice grain, 0.08% in chaff and 0.03% in ears were distributed in the first year. Consequently, environmental fate of molinate using lysimeter simulating a paddy rice field were investigated 25.24% in soil, 11.64% in rice plant, 1.05% in leachate, 6.74% in evolved ¹⁴CO₂ and 0.02% in volatilized organic chemicals in the first year.

This study was carried out to indicate the status of agricultural environment in Yangpyong area which is special protection area for tap water in Han river during three years(1996~1998). The main study was on pesticide monitoring, analysis of pesticides in Bokpocheon water and soil. Water in this small river for supplying to the rice was found nine pesticides residues, ranged from 0.1 to 22.7 ppb, similar patterns from survey conducted in National Institute of Agricultural Science and technology, Soil in rice paddy has also low levels of eleven pesticide residues, ranged from 0.002 to 0.55 ppm.

국어과 교재시(敎材詩)로서 좋은 시를 고르는 일은 교과서 편성에서 대단히 중요한 일이다. 교재시가 교육적으로 유용한 시여야 하기 때문이다. 본 연구에서는 제7차 초등학교 국어 교과서의 교재시 205편을 대상으로 하여 형태면, 내용면, 수사면에서 분석을 시도해 보았다. 형태면에서는 동시가 주류를 이루고 있으며, 마디율(foot)은 저학년에서, 자유시형은 고학년에서 주로 쓰였다. 형태면에서는 6차에 비해 여러 가지 변화된 모습을 볼 수 있었다. 내용 면에서는 제목, 주제, 분위기, 배경, 화자(話者) 등을 살펴보았다. 소재적 제목, 어린이 생활적 제재, 자연 친화적 주제, 밝은 분위기, 생활 공간의 근경(近景) 중심, 화제지향적 3인칭의 화자 등이 특징으로 나타났다. 제5차의 <상상→사생(寫生)>, 제6차의 <상상→생활>에 비해 제7차는 <서정→생활>의 추이를 보여 서정성에 지나치게 치우친 점이 문제로 보였다. 수사면에서는 소리·의미전이·문장구조·감정호소 등에 따라 살펴 보았다. 소리에 따른 수사법은 의태법(mimetic)·의성법(onomatopoeia)에, 의미전이에 따른 수사법은 은유법(metaphor)·직유법(simile)에, 문장구조에 따른 수사법은 반복법에 각각 치우쳐 있었다. 그리고 감정에 호소하는 수사법은 의문법, 문답법(interrogatory), 영탄법(exclamation) 순이었다. 이러한 초등학교 교재시 분석 연구가 시 지도는 물론, 앞으로 초등학교 교재시 선정에 있어서 참고자료가 되었으면 하는 마음이다. Selecting good poems as teaching materials to organize Korean Language textbook is very important since the poems must be educationally useful. This study analyzed 205 poems from Korean Language textbooks, which were developed for the 7th elementary school curriculum, according to their aspects of form, content, and figure of speech. In the aspect of form, most of the poems in textbooks are children's verse. The form of foot are used in the textbooks for lower grade but prose in higher grade textbooks. This aspect has been changed compared to the 6th curriculum. In the aspect of content, this study analyzed title, theme, atmosphere, background, and narrator. This study found some characteristics from the analysis such as titles from writing material, materials from children's daily life, pro-nature themes, cheerful atmosphere, close range view of living space, and the third person narrator pertinent to topic. The 7th curriculum tends to be focused on < lyric→daily life >, whereas the 5th was focused on < imagination→sketch > and the 6th was < imagination→daily life >. The trend of heavily relying on lyrics could be a problem on teaching poems in the elementary school. This study also analyzed the figure of speech according to its sound, meaning transfer, structure of sentence, and appealing to emotion. The figure of speech in sound tends to be mimetic and onomatopoeia, whereas metaphor and simile in meaning transfer, and repetition in sentence structure. This study also found that the figure of speech in terms of appealing to emotion tends to be questioning, and exclamation. This analytic study can be used for teachers not only to teach children poems but also to select poems for organizing elementary school textbook.
