        Effects of My Child’s Safety Web-Based Program for Caregivers of Children with Cancer in South Korea

        Objectives: The purposes of this study were to develop a Web-based education program, My Child’s Safety, which includes patient safety education and information on the diagnosis, treatment, and management for caregivers of children with cancer, and to examine the efficacy of the My Child’s Safety program in promoting the caregivers’ awareness of patient safety. Methods: A one-group pre- and post-test design was adopted. The participants were the caregivers of children with cancer and were recruited from one pediatric hemato-oncology unit of a tertiary university hospital in a large metropolitan city of South Korea. They were asked to review the Web-based program for patient safety and then complete questionnaires developed to measure the awareness of patient safety among the caregivers. Results: In the study, the total score of the caregivers’ awareness of patient safety had increased significantly after Web-based self-learning patient safety education. Also caregivers’ awareness of their right to ask and know about procedures and treatments during hospitalization had increased after the program was used. Conclusions: The Web-based patient safety education program effectively improved the awareness of patient safety and the awareness of the right to know and ask about procedures and treatments during hospitalization among the caregivers. Family caregivers were less likely to ask healthcare professionals questions related to safety.

        고영신의 <고흐의 피아노 솔로를 위한 5개의 환타지>에 대한 해석과 교수법적 접근

        <Five Fantasies for Piano Solo, “For Vincent Van Gogh”> by Young-shin Ko, piano solos inspired by Van Gogh's “Trees and Undergrowth” “The Potato Eaters,” “Terrace of a cafe at night (Place du Forum)” “Self-Portrait with Bandaged Ear and Pipe” and “Starry Night on the Rhone”. The performer had to understand Gogh's philosophical and spiritual world in order to play the work. This study was conducted to understand the characteristics of Gogh's philosophy and works and apply them to piano performance and teaching. Gogh tried to express his psychological state, background of life and philosophy in his works using symbolic media, and Go Young-shin Ko reflected these Gogh’s traits in his work. The purpose of this study is to interpret Young-shin Ko’s <Five Fantasies for Piano Solo, “For Vincent Van Gogh”> and suggest way of expression and piano teaching. It is hoped that through this study, creative composition and performance combining picture and music will be more enriched and activated. 고영신 작곡가의 <고흐의 피아노 솔로를 위한 5개의 환타지>는 반 고흐(Van Gogh)의 다섯 작품, ‘숲의 정경’, ‘감자먹는 사람들’, ‘아를의 포룸 광장의 테라스’, ‘파이프를 물고 귀에 붕대를 감은 자화상’, ‘론강의 별이 빛나는 밤’에 영감을 받아 작곡된 피아노 독주 작품이다. 작품 연주를 위해 연주자는 본 작품의 영감 소재인 고흐의 철학과 작품세계를 먼저 이해하여야 하기에, 본 연구는 고흐의 창작세계의 근간이 된 그의 철학과 작품 특성을 파악하여 이를 피아노 연주에 적용하고자 한다. 고흐는 작품에서 그의 심리상태, 삶의 배경, 철학들을 상징적 매개체를 활용하여 표현하였으며. 고영신의 작품 속에는 이러한 고흐의 생각들이 반영되어 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 작곡의 영감 소재인 고흐 작품에 대한 이해를 통하여, 고영신의 <고흐의 피아노 솔로를 위한 5개의 환타지>에 대한 피아노 연주의 해석 및 표현과 교수방법을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 본 연구를 통해 관객과의 소통을 확장시킬 수 있는 그림과 음악이 결합된 현대작품에 대한 창작과 연주들이 더욱 확산되기를 기대한다.

        Factors Influencing eHealth Literacy of Middle School Students in Korea: A Descriptive Cross-Sectional Study

        Objectives: The aim of this study is to identify eHealth literacy level and to analyze the factors influencing eHealth literacy among middle school students in Korea. Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study involved the administration of a self-report questionnaire. The participants were 799 middle school students. Descriptive statistics were analyzed via an independent t-test, Mann–Whitney U-test, and one-way ANOVA. Pearson correlation coefficients were used to test the correlations among variables. Multiple linear regression analysis was conducted to identify the factors influencing eHealth literacy. Results: eHealth literacy was substantially lower in students in their first year than in students in their third year of middle school. Participants with asthma, herniated disc, and atopic dermatitis had significantly lower eHealth literacy than those without the diseases. The major finding was that eHealth literacy of middle school students was influenced by their grade and number of diseases diagnosed. eHealth literacy was higher among students in their second and third years of middle school and among those who had fewer diagnosed diseases. Conclusions: eHealth literacy among adolescents is important for better health outcomes; however, middle school students with diseases had lower eHealth literacy than healthy students. Therefore, efforts to enhance eHealth literacy should focus on adolescents with diseases; moreover, health education in schools and healthcare settings for adolescents should include critical analytical skill development for better eHealth literacy.

      • 단순 신낭종에서 경피적 흡인술 후 99% Ethanol 및 Povidone iodine 청화요법의 장기추적 성적

        Purpose: Percutaneous aspiration with sclerotherapy has become widely used as a treatment of the symptomatic, large simple renal cysts because of its minimal invasiveness and high effectiveness. We studied to assess the long-term outcome of sclerotherapy using 99% ethanol or povidone iodine after percuatneous aspiration of the simple renal cyst. Methods: Total of 46 cases of simple renal cysts from July 2000 to February 2006 were divided into group I (percutaneous aspiration only; n= lO), II (percutaneous aspiration with sclerotherapy using 99% ethanol; n=28) and III (percutaneous aspiration with sclerotherapy using povidone iodine; n=8). We evaluated age, sex, cyst size, locations, success rate, complication rate, recurrence rate and follow-up period. The follow-up ultrasonography was performed at posttreatment 3-6 month and then every 6 months. The recurred cases were retreated with the same procedure. Results: Mean age of total patients and mean follow up period were 56.6 ± 14.3 years (8-76) and 26.2± 17.4 months (6-60) , respectively. There was no statistical differences of age in three groups (Group I; 54.1 ±21.5, II; 60.8±9.7 and III; 59.4± 10.1; p>0.05). The symptoms associated with renal cysts were abdominal or flank pain (n=19), palpable abdominal mass (n=3) and dyspepsia (n=l). Complete and partial response rates were 10%, 20% in group I, 14.3%, 71.4% in group II and 0%, 62.5% in group III , respectively (p<O.Ol). Recurrence rates in group I, II, and III were 70%, 14.3% and 37.5%, respectively (p<0.05). Four patients complained flank pain, facial flushing, and dizziness associated with the procedures, which were spontenous1y resolved. Conclusion: The percutaneous aspiration with sclerotherapy using either 99% ethanol or povidone iodine solution appears to be more effective treatment options to prevent recurrent renal cyst than aspiration only.

        온라인 피아노 레슨의 환경과 교수방법에 대한 학습자의 인식 조사연구

        This study investigates the overall environment and perception of piano learners who have experienced online piano lesson due to COVID 19 in the first semester of 2020, regarding the preparation of class materials, vedio conferencing platform, teaching methods and learning elements for online piano lesson. To this end, this study developed a questionnaire and divided it into five major areas: general characteristics of study subjects, methods, environment and equipment use, learning elements and current and complementary points of online piano lessons. In the results of this study, it would be necessary to prepare the sufficient equipment and materials for securing the stable internet connection and also improving the quality of online piano lesson. In the learning elements of lesson, it would be needed to provide effective lesson by dividing it into the ontact instruction for theoretical learning, accuracy and expressiveness of rhythm, and melody, and the face-to-face lesson for tone learning, tone color, voicing, and controlling pedal sound that requires the analysis of sensitive sound. Also, in the form of lesson, the effects of learning could be increased through various composition of real-time synchronous connection, asynchronous connection, and mixture of synchronous and asynchronous connection, instead of a single method. The results of this study could possibly present some help and direction to instructors of piano who should cope with the ontact practical technique lecture in the future. 본 연구는 온라인 피아노 실기지도를 위한 수업 기자재 준비, 화상회의 플랫폼 활용, 교수방법, 교수항목 등에관해, 2020년도 1학기 코비드 19로 인해 온라인 실기지도를 경험했던 대학교의 피아노 학습자에게 레슨에 대한전반적인 환경과 인식을 조사하는 것을 연구의 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 설문지를 개발하여 연구 대상자의 일반적 특성, 온라인 피아노 레슨 방법ㆍ환경 및 기자재 활용ㆍ학습요소ㆍ현황과 보완점에 대해 5 가지 영역으로 나누어 조사를 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 살펴보면 온라인 레슨에 대한 안정적인 인터넷 통신상태 확보와 온라인 피아노 레슨의 질을 향상시킬 수 있는 충분한 기자재 준비가 요구되는 것으로 조사되었다. 레슨의 학습요소에 있어서 온라인 레슨에 적합한 이론학습, 리듬, 선율의 정확성과 표현력을 비대면으로 지도하고, 민감한 소리의 분석을 요구하는 소리(tone)의 학습, 음색(tone color)ㆍ성부간의 음색(voicing)ㆍ페달 소리 조절 등에 대한 요소는 대면레슨에서 분리하여 효과적으로 지도하는 것이 요구되었다. 또한 수업의 형태도한가지만의 방식이 아니라 동시접속 실시간, 비동시접속, 동시접속과 비동시접속의 혼합형으로 다양하게 구성하여 학습의 효과를 높일 수 있다. 본 연구에서 도출된 결과를 통해 앞으로 비대면 실기강의를 대비해야 하는 피아노 교수자들에게 도움과 방향제시를 할 수 있기를 바란다.

        노인음악교육모델 구성요인 탐색 및 개발에 대한 델파이 조사 분석 연구

        본 연구는 노인학습자들의 삶의 질을 향상시킬 수 있도록 평생교육 관점을 적용한 노인음악교육모델을 개발하는 것을 연구의 목적으로 한다. 문헌연구를 통해 도출된 노인음악교육모델의 구성요인과 개발된 모델의 타당성을 검증하기 위하여, 5개 분야의 전문가 20인에게 2차에 걸쳐 델파이조사를 실시하였고, 연구 결과에 의거하여 노인음악교육모델의 타당성을 검증받고 모델을 확정하였다. 확정된 노인음악교육모델은 ‘건강영역(정서영역과 신체영역)’, ‘인지 영역((이해력, 기억력, 창의력)’, ‘실행영역(세대 간 소통, 사회 환원, 음악일자리)’의 3개의 대영역과 8개의 구성요인, 12개의 하위요소로 구성된다. 델파이 조사에서 건강영역 중, 정서영역에 대한 적합도가 가장 높게 응답되었고, 인지영역, 실행영역 순으로 결과 값이 측정되었다. 현 시대의 노인들은 건강상태, 학력, 경제력 등 다양한 배경을 지니기에, 미래의 노인음악교육모델은 현재의 여가중심 교육에서 확장하여 다양성을 반영하여야 할 것이다. 뇌활동 증진과 치매예방을 위한 인지영역의 교육과 노인의 사회참여를 통한 실행영역의 교육은 노인학습자의 삶의 질 향상에 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다. 새로운 음악교육모델이 노인학습자들의 음악교육 기회를 확장시키고 발전하는데 공헌할 수 있기를 바란다. The objective of this study is to develop the elderly music education model applying the perspective of lifelong education to improve the life quality of elderly learners. In order to verify the elements and validity of elderly music education model drawn through literature research, total two times of Delphi survey were conducted with 20 experts in five areas. Based on the results of this study, the validity of elderly music education model was verified, and then the model was determined. The determined elderly music education model is composed of three large domains such as ‘health domain(emotional and physical health)’, ‘cognition domain(comprehension, memory, creativity)’, and ‘execution domain(communication between generations, return to society, job related to music)’, 8 factors, and 12 sub-elements. In the Delphi research, emotional health factor in health domain was the highest, which was followed by cognition domain and execution domain in order. As the elderly of the present time has diverse background such as health condition, academic background, and ecomomic power, the future elderly music education model should reflect the diverse aspect of current elderly generation. For the prevention of dementia and the enhancement of brain activities decreased by aging, the education of execution domain and cognition domain could be helpful for improving the life quality of elderly learners. This new music education model could hopefully contribute to the expansion and development of opportunities of music education for elderly learners.

      • 온라인 청소년 비만예방 프로그램에 관한 체계적 문헌고찰

        Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the trend of online adolescent obesity prevention program abroad and its effectiveness on BMI, body fat, diet and physical activity, and other variables. Methods: This study was conducted based on PRISMA guidelines for systematic review. A search of electronic biblographic database of Medline, CINAHL, HealthSTAR, ERIC from 2000 to 2017 was carried out to identify studies of RCT that included online adolescent obesity program. Results: Of 416 publications identified, 9 studies met inclusion and exclusion criteria. Five studies reported that BMI was significantly decreased after use of online program. Conclusion: More research on online adolescent obesity prevention program is required because adolescent obesity is sharply increasing but only few RCT or long-term studies were conducted on adolescent obesity in Korea
