        임상 치과위생사의 치과의료 서비스 과정에서 영어 의사소통 능력 관련 요인

        Objectives: This study analyzes factors related to English communication skills in the dental health services of clinical dental hygienists who provide dental medical services to foreigners. Methods: Surveys were conducted to measure students' English communication skills. Participants comprised 195 clinical dental hygienists working at dental English study cafes or who provided dental medical services to foreigners. After analyzing the differences in English communication skills, hierarchical multiple regression analysis was performed on the factors related to English communication skills. Results: English communication skill of dental hygienists was 1.96 points out of 5 points. The factors related to the English communication skill of the clinical dental hygienists were foreign patient care, language training experience, overseas living experience, and certified English proficiency. The adjusted explanatory power of this model was 53.0%. Conclusions: Dental hygienists in charge of foreign patients have experience in language training and overseas residence, have a language qualification certificate, and have higher English communication skills. It is necessary to develop English language learning programs based on metaverse to develop the English communication skills of dental hygienists who provide dental health services to foreign patients and to operate a creative educational environment to increase interest in learning English.

        치위생학 전공 학생의 특수목적 영어교과목 요구분석

        Objectives: This study analyzes the demands of dental hygiene college students for English courses and proposes ways to improve English courses for college students majoring in dental hygiene that would take advantage of English for specific purposes (ESP) in the future. Methods: Using a structured questionnaire, four universities by region with departments of dental hygiene were selected at random, and out of a total of 260 college students majoring in dental hygiene, data of 258 students, excluding data with missing values, were considered for investigating the needs of English curriculum development using the SPSS program. Results: Total 82.1% of the students expected English programs, and they said that English was important, The proposal for English curriculum development indicated that although the number of English programs was sufficient, diversification of English programs or changes in methods of managing classes were required. As for the need for English programs (66.4%), they required more ESP, such as practical English for dental or dental terminology, which can be used clinically and more than English for general purposes (EGP). Conclusions: Students in dental hygiene showed a higher demand for more professional ESP that can use clinically as dental hygienists in the future. It is necessary to consider the reorganization of the curriculum or changes in the method of managing English classes by reflecting one demands of dental hygiene students.

        또래관계 형성이 어려운 아동의 기초 사회/의사소통 기술 향상 연구

        This study examined the effectiveness of a social competence program for mentally challenged(IQ 58-74) and/or somewhat autistic 6- and 7-year old children with peer relationship difficulties. The Hierarchical Model of Social Competence by Guralnick(1992) provided the framework of the experimental program. The intervention consisted of 16 sessions: 2 intervention teachers implemented each session for 90 minutes once a week. Target behaviors were to initiate interactions with others, to respond to behaviors of teachers and peers, to participate in group activities, and to express their needs to others with speech. Data on the frequencies of target behaviors, the behavior episodes and parent reports were analyzed. Most of children became to be more sociable, although there were individual differences in the changes in target behaviors.
