Observations of the CH_3OH 4_2–5_1 E Line Toward the Sgr B2 Region

The CH_3OH 4_2–5_1 E transition was observed toward the Sgr B2 region, including the Principal Cloud and its surroundings. This methanol transition shows an extended emission along the 2’N cloud, which is believed to be colliding with the Principal Cloud and may trigger the massive star formation in this cloud. This extended methanol emission may also suggest that the 2’N cloud is under shocks. We derive total methanol column density N(CH_3OH) = 2.9 ±0.3 × 10_(14) cm^(–2)toward the peak position of the extended emission. The fractional abundance of methanol is about 10^(–9), relative to the estimated total H_2 abundance, which is similar to the methanol abundances in quiet gas phase.

We observed the thermal transitions of SiO (J=I-0, 2-1) and $^{29}SiO$ (J=l-O) toward the Sgr A molecular clouds. The distribution and the velocity structure of SiO are very similar to previous results for 'quiet' interstellar molecules. We think· that the SiO has been well mixed with other molecules such as $H_2$ which may indicate that the formation of Sgr A molecular clouds was affected by the activities, such as shock waves or energetic photons, from the Galactic center in large scales. The total column density of SiO is about $4.1\times10^{14} cm^{-2}$ and the fractional abundance $SiO/H_2$ appears to be about 10 times larger than those of other clouds in the central region of our galaxy. The derived values are thought to be lower limits since the optical depths of the observed SiO lines are not very thin. The formation of SiO has been known to be critically related to shocks, and our results provide informative data on the environment of our Galactic center.
SANAA의 건축에 나타난 잠재성 공간구축에 관한 연구 - 교육·문화시설을 중심으로 -

Following the modern era, limits of de-constructivism and postmodernism began to appear in the trend of architecture. Initiated to overcome the limits, the encounter of architecture and philosophy led to the virtual concept of Gilles Deleuze, which allowed for application of philosophical implications and humanistic approach to architectural space. However, digital design architecture as one of the modern technologies to approach space installation was the only means tried to solve the issue. This has further made architecture as a realistic development much more difficult to understand, leading to the failure of using existing architectural skills and discontinuation from historical trends. In this regards, in an attempt to find a solution to this issue, this study is designed to analyze spatial characteristics of education and cultural facilities of architect SANAA well expressing regional features of Japan on the basis of modern and contemporary architect education. In methodology, we laid a framework for the analysis using definitions of wall and its elements as a basis of space construction, thereby identifying the characteristics of the wall structure of his architecture and examining the production and characteristics of virtual space. To conclude, building education and cultural facilities requires virtual space, and there are various approaches to it, which can be used as a new architecture design method.
‘생활세계(Lebenswelt)'의 미적 경험으로서 공예디자인

As this study is theological work for laying the cornerstone of a building in design of science, It is based on an aesthetic and phenomenological approach. In terms of aesthetic approach, Pragmatism Aesthetics formed the conceptual basis of design study by exploring Aesthetics value in design and in case of phenomenological approach, I study the craftdesign is the parts of ‘Lebenswelt’ through the concept of Edmund Husser's ‘Lebenswelt’. As the craftdesign is based on ‘Lebenswelt’, it brings about ‘Aesthetic experience’ and the technical problems. Therefore, I explain ‘lebenswelt’ and technical problems at the point of Edmund Husserl's view and examine the ‘Lebenswelt’ through John Deway's ‘Empiricism’ and ‘Instrumentalism’. Lastly, I study the relation between the craftdesign as ‘Lebenswelt’ and the Aesthetics experience. 본 논문은 디자인학의 정초를 위한 학제 간 연구의 일환으로, 인간생활의 경험에서 오는 통합된 이해를 토대로 하는 디자인에 관한 미학적, 현상학적 접근이라고 할 수 있겠다. 디자인의 미적 본질과 탐구를 위한 미학적 접근으로는 프래그머티즘 미학이 경험으로서의 디자인 연구에 이념적 토대를 제공했다. 나아가 연구자는 현상학적 접근으로 훗설의 ‘생활세계’ 개념을 통해 공예/디자인이 ‘생활세계’의 일부임을 고찰하고자 했다. 디자인에서 ‘불의의 문제(wicked problems)’로 제기되는 디자인 영역의 확장과 디자인 문제의 불확정성은 그것의 토대가 ‘생활세계’에 있기에, 미적 경험과 기술에 관한한 문제를 야기시킨다. 따라서 연구자는 ‘생활세계’와 기술의 문제를 후설의 현상론적 관점에서 해명하고, 미적 경험의 토대로서 생활세계를 듀이의 경험론과 도구주의를 통해 살펴보았다. 마지막으로 이상의 논의를 바탕으로 생활세계의 미적 경험으로서의 공예디자인을 고찰하고자 했다.

Astrochemistry provides powerful tools to understand various cosmic phenomena, including those in our solar system to the large-scale structure of the universe. In addition, the chemical property of an astronomical body is a crucial factor which governs the evolution of the system. Recent progress in astrophysical theories, computational modelings, and observational techniques requires a detailed understanding of the interactions between the constituents of an astronomical system, which are atoms and molecules within the system. Especially the far-infrared/sub-millimeter wave range, which is called as the last frontier in astronomical observations, contains numerous molecular lines, which may provide a huge amount of new information. However, we need an astrochemical understanding to use this information fully. Although this review is very limited, I would like to stress the importance of astrochemical approach in this overview for the field, which is getting much more attention than ever before.
