During manual work in shipbuilding such as blasting, grinding, and so on, a large force is acted on the body of a worker. As a result, this work induces musculoskeletal disorders of the worker and it also induces severe social problems. To solve this problem, we are developing a work support robot for the prevention of musculoskeletal disorders in shipbuilding. In this study, a result of conceptual design of this robot is presented. A worker can perform the blasting work with a small force using this robot which can lessen the force acting on the body of the worker.
골리앗 크레인의 공주행 거리와 와이어 교체 최소를 고려한 최적 블록 리프팅 계획

Recently, a shipyard is making every effort to efficiently manage equipments of resources such as a gantry crane, transporter, and so on. So far block lifting scheduling of a gantry crane has been manually performed by a manager of the shipyard, and thus it took much time to get scheduling results and moreover the quality of them was not optimal. To improve this, a block lifting scheduling system of the gantry crane using optimization techniques was developed in this study. First, a block lifting scheduling problem was mathematically formulated as a multi-objective optimization problem, considering the minimization of travel distance at an idle state and wire replacement during block lifting. Then, to solve the problem, a meta-heuristic optimization algorithm based on the genetic algorithm was proposed. To evaluate the efficiency and applicability of the developed system, it was applied to an actual block lifting scheduling problem of the shipyard. The result shows that blocks can be efficiently lifted by the gantry crane using the developed system, compared to manual scheduling by a manager.
유전 알고리즘을 기반으로 한 조선소 블록 적치장의 재배치 최소화

Due to its large size, a ship is first divided into scores of blocks and then each block is constructed through various shops, such as the assembly shop, the painting shop, and the outfitting shop. However, each block may not be directly moved to the next shop and may be temporarily laid on a block stockyard because the working time in each shop is different. If blocks are laid on the block stockyard without any planning, the rearrangement of the blocks by a transporter are required because the blocks have the different in and out time. In this study, an optimal layout method based on the genetic algorithm was proposed in order to minimize the rearrangement of the blocks in the block stockyard. To evaluate the applicability of the proposed method, it was applied to a simple layout problem of the block stockyard.
해상 정보 취득과 연료 소모량 추정을 기반으로 한 선박 경제 운항 경로 결정 방법

Recently, the ratio of fuel cost to the operational cost of a ship is increasing according to the increase of the international oil price. Thus, many studies are being made to reduce the cost; for example, a method for acquiring the sea state information, a method for estimating fuel consumption, a method for determining the ship’s optimal route, and so on. However, these studies were not incorporated together and being independently made in different fields. In this study, by improving and incorporating such studies, a method for determining a ship economic route based on the acquisition of the sea state and estimation of fuel consumption was proposed. To evaluate the applicability of the proposed method, it was applied to an optimal routing problem of the ocean area including many islands. The result shows that the proposed method can yield the economic route minimizing fuel consumption.
