        Understanding the significance of cognitive and affective image in attracting tourists : Focusing on the case of the destination marketing of Australia

        This study examines the impacts of cognitive and affective images of Australia among Korean tourists and observes how they influence Korean tourists’ intention to visit Australia. Recognising tourists’ involvement in overseas trip is often mentioned with the concept of destination image and tourists’ behaviour, it is applied as a moderate variable between cognitive and affective images of Australia and tourists’ intention to visit. A questionnaire is designed which is based on literature review. This paper finds that: 1) ‘social environment’, 'cultural and recreation activities', and 'natural and iconic environment' are the important components of cognitive image of Australia from Korean tourists’ perspectives, 2) ‘scenery-like’, 'urban' and 'sensitive' are the significant components of affective image of Australia; 3) tourists’ involvement in overseas trip partially plays a moderate variable between cognitive and affective images of Australia on the one hand, and Korean tourists’ intention to visit Australia on the other. While cognitive and affective attributes are widely studied throughout tourism studies, a practical study with a specific destination and a targeting group has been rare. This paper provides Australia tourism with significant information suggesting how to appeal Korean tourists.

      • 모바일 이모티콘 제작을 이용한 초등학생 부채춤 교육프로그램 제안

        본 연구는 비언어적 소통 매개체인 모바일 이모티콘을 제작하고 그를 이용하는 한국무용 교육프로그램의 발전 가능성을 탐색한 연구이다. 본 연구프로그램은 초등학생을 대상으로 하며, 교육은 총 6차시로 도입-전개-정리의 형태로 구성하였다. 학생들은 부채춤을 배우고 부채춤의 동작을 저마다 이미지화 시키는 단계를 거쳐 이것을 토대로 모바일 이모티콘을 제작한다. 학생들은 직접 제작한 이모티콘을 통하여 부채춤을 재구성, 활성화 할 수 있으며 이 활동으로부터 사고의 폭이 넓어지고 창의적인 표현 능력을 향상시키는 효과를 꾀할 수 있기 때문에 이모티콘 제작을 이용한 한국무용 교육프로그램을 제안하였다.

        Bringing the concept of “Psychic Distance” in attracting Korea tourists to Australia -Implications for Destination Marketing of Australia-

        Having considered the fact that the annual growth of Korean tourists travelling Australia is unsteady while that of travelling overseas is steady, it is believed that a new marketing approach will be helpful to encourage Korean tourists to travel Australia among other competing international destinations. This paper brings the concept of psychic distance and empirically shows the significant role of psychological distance in attracting Korean tourists to Australia. Using online panel survey, a total of 334 cases were analyzed for this study. The factor analysis identified the underlying components consisting of psychic distance towards Australia based on Korean tourists' perspectives; familiarity, infrastructure, cultural understandings, and favorable impression. This research also found that three out of the four components play a significant role in Korean tourists' intention to visit Australia. The factors including 'favorable impression', 'infrastructure', and 'cultural understandings' influenced Korean tourists’ intention to travel to Australia. Among them, the component of ‘favorable impression’ was the most powerful factor that increases the level of intention to visit. The result of this paper can contribute to building up a new marketing approach by which more Koreans are engaged to visit Australia in the future.

      • `제기차기` 기술을 활용한 민속놀이 무용동작 개발

        본 연구는 민속놀이인 `제기차기`와 한국춤의 결합을 꾀하여 새로운 무용교육 프로그램의 개발 가능성을 탐색한 연구이다. 이에 본 연구는 `제기차기` 기술을 활용한 무용동작 개발에 목적을 두고, 제기차기 기술 중 개칙구 차기, 발들고 차기, 양발차기, 귀 위까지 차기를 중심으로 한 4가지 전통놀이 무용동작을 개발하였다. The aim of this study is to develop possibility for new dance training program by combining Folk play, `Jegichagi` and Korean Dance. This study developed 4 traditional dance techniques aiming for developing dance technique by utilizing techniques of `Jegichagi` such as `Gaechikku Kick(a mole cricket)`, `Air-leg Kick`, `Two-leg Kick`, `Kick above the ear`.
