        초등학교 영어사교육 실태 및 사교육비 결정요인: 학부모 인식을 중심으로

        This study examined parents` perceptions of private English education and determinants of their private coaching expenditures for their children. A total of 811 parents who have kids in third to sixth grade in the Busan area were asked to respond to a 65-item questionnaire consisting of 8 subsections: general aspects of private English education for elementary school kids, reasons for choosing private coaching, the instructional environment for private English education, effects of private education, difficulties with private coaching, conditions for discontinuing private English education, social policies, and English education in the school context, Frequency analysis, regression analysis, and meta-analysis were performed on the participants` responses to the questionnaire. The results showed that parents have distinct perceptions about private English education for their kids, and that there are 17 determinants of private coaching expenditures. Implications for policy making and closing the English divide are suggested.

        백로와 왜가리의 집단번식에 의한 삼림토양 (森林土壤) 및 초본층 (草本層) 구조의 변화

        Community structure and soil properties of larch forest which are used for breeding site by herons were studied at Apgogri, Hoengsung, Kangwon Province. This site has been protected as a Natural Monument(No. 248) from 1973, in Korea. Herons have used this habitat from February to October every year. In 1995, more than 700 herons were observed in this habitat. Most of the larches died due to group breeding of herons, and no larch saplings were found at forest floor. Nutrient contents of soil in this habitat were much higher than those in control plot(non-breeding site). This must be due to the addition of faeces from herons and of thin twigs and other organic materials from the canopy and bird nests. Species composition of herb layer in this habitat was quite different from that in control plot. Breeding site was dominated by Humulus japonicus, Persicaria fauriei, Peysicaria perfoliata, Commelina communis, Chelidonium majus var. asiaticum, Digitaria sanguinalis, Bidens bipinnata. Dioscorea batatas which are indicator species of soil eutrophication. Similarity index of shrub and herb layer between the breeding site and control site was 0.36 and 0.07, respectively.

        This study is based on the following hypotheses which are set up to prove the relationship between fluid intelligence and crystallized with reference to home environment. 1.The relationship between fluid intelligence and crystallized intelligence with reference to status variables in the home environment. (1) There will be significant relationship between fluid intelligence and crystallized intelligence in children who are high status group. (2) There will be no significant relationship between fluid intelligence and crystallized intelligence in children who are low status group. 2.The relationship between fluid intelligence and crystallized intelligence with reference to process variables in the home environment. (1) There will be significant relationship between fluid intelligence and crystallized intelligence in children who are high process group. (2) There will be no significant relationship between fluid intelligence and crystallized intelligence in children who are low process group. 3.The relationship of the process variables will be greater than that of the status variables in the relation between fluid intelligence and crystallized intelligence. The major findings of this study were as follows. 1.There was high relationship between fluid intelligence and crystallized intelligence in 11-12year old children. This result was different from the study of Lee ok-hyoung. 2.There was significant relationship between fluid intelligence and crystallized intelligence in both children who were high and low group. But, in the result of paired t-test, there was significant difference between fluid intelligence and crystallized intelligence in children who were low group. 3.The difference between the process variables and status variable in the relationship between fluid intelligence and crystallized intelligence was not significant.

        초등학생의 진로 자아 효능감과 관련 변인과의 관계 연구

        Ⅰ. Purpose of the study This study intended to develop a children's career self-efficacy scale and investigated difference of children's career self-efficacy level depending on their sex, home environment, lcus of control, social environment, academic performance Ⅱ.Method of the study 1. Instrument In this study, an inventory was developed to assess the Korean elementary children's career self-efficacy. In stage one, to structure the scale, free responces were used. The result was classified into eight groups. In stage two, subjects were given a list of 12 male-dominated occupation and 12 female-dominated occupation. Beside of this creteria, the circumstance of work and educational requirements were considered. However, a very few occupations were available for selecting female-dominated occupations, since female college graduates have concentrated on very limited ranges of occupations until recently. The questionnaire consisted of two parts. The first Question was: How confident are you that you could successfully complete the educational and traning requirements necessary to enter these occupations? Second question was : How confident are you that you could successfully complete the job duties? Participant used 5 point scale(1 =not confident at all, 5=totally confident)to respond to each occupation. The assessment of career self-efficacy was based on the procedure developed by Bandura and applied by Betz and Hackett to career research. 2. Subjects The subject of this study were 630 children 6th grades of elementary schools(331 male and 299 female). 3. Procedure of the study The relationships between the career self-efficacy scale and other variables(sex, home environment, locus of control, social environment, academic performance) were investigated. Ⅲ.Results Sex, home environment, locus of control, social environment, and academic performance accounted for a significant portion of variance. 1) Female participants expressed greater career self-efficacy in female-dominated occupations and male participants expressed greater career self-efficacy in male-dominated occupations. 2) Children who is high in home environment were found have a significant higher level of career self-efficacy than children in low. 3) Internal -external control is related to career self-efficacy with statistical significant: the one who is high in internal control, as compared with the one who is high in external control. 4) Children in Cities were found have a significant higher level of career self-efficacy than children in country . 5) Children who is high in academic performance were found have a significant higher level of career self-efficacy than children in low. The result of this investigation showed similar patterns with previous research.
