The fiber optical temperature sensing device was developed by using a Fiber Bragg Grading (FBG) sensor and a linear transmittance optical filter. The temperature change causes change in the FBG sensor reflectance wavelength and the reflectance wavelength from FBG sensor is transmitted to a linear transmittance filter so that the optical signal value is determined by the wavelength. The temperature can be measured by the optical signal value by passing FBG reflectance wavelength to the linear transmittance filter. Using the developed system, temperature ranges from 10℃ to 50℃ were measured and the measured data were almost linear.

The purpose of this study was to develop improved strength of an arm and a boom on over-load environment, which causes damage in the initial design statement. To develop improved strength of an excavator front group, we calculated load conditions using the MATLAB program, and using these conditions, we performed a structural analysis of an excavator front group for the maximum digging force condition. Finally we performed a topology optimization to reduce weights of an arm and a boom, and we re-modeled an arm and a boom based on the topology design results and re-performed the structural analysis. The strength of the re-design is higher than the initial design but its weight is almost the same as the initial design.

High frequency induction heating (HFIH) is used in many industries and has a number of advantages, including reliability and repeatability. It is a non-contact method of providing energy-efficient heat in the minimum amount of time without using a flame. Recently, HFIH has been actively studied using the finite element method (FEM), however, these studies only focused on the accuracy of the analysis. In this paper, we can measure joule heat distributions by the electromagnetic analysis for HFIH and the temperature distribution from the heat transfer analysis by applying joule heat for a sprocket. The sprocket is heated over 850℃ due to joule heat and then cooled to under 200℃ by using cooling 20℃ water. These processes were used to calculate the FEM and then compared to our experimental results. The calculated outcome may be used to predict hardening depth in HFIH.

신뢰성 및 반복성을 포함한 장점을 갖고 있는 고주파 유도 경화는 많은 산업분야에 사용된다. 고주파 유도 경화는 화염을 이용하지 않고 최소한의 시간에 에너지-효율적인 가열방법을 제공하는 비접촉식 방법이다. 최근, 유한요소법을 이용한 고주파 유도 경화가 적극적으로 연구되고 있지만, 이들 연구는 단지 분석의 정확도에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 본 논문에서는 코일 및 입력 전원을 동일한 형태의 조건에서 가변 주파수를 적용하여 해석하고 실험결과와 비교하였다. 해석과 실험 결과는 최적의 주파수인 3kHz를 사용하였을 때 경화 깊이가 거의 동일함을 보인다. Roll forming technology has a problem in that it depends only on experience without accurate data in the actual field. To solve this problem, it is necessary to procure accurate data during the roll forming process. To this end, we determined the operating force and the material thickness by implementing several changes to those variables during an experiment. This study compares the FEA results and experimental results. Experimental results were used for the basic data of the design. The FEA results show that the roll forming machine is operating accurately and safely. And, a comparison of the results shows that the design of the automatic roll forming machine is operating in the right way. This design of an automatic roll forming machine will be helpful for many areas of the industry.

This study has been begun to find the cause of 3-cylinder diesel engine piston damage. The piston reciprocating motion for high speed under high temperature and high pressure should use the material featuring heat - resistance, wear - resistance and strong for heat expansion. Material analysis to verify that the proper material were used, damage to the piston of the engine through a liquid penetrant inspection to check the defective portion was the progress of the defect size and defect was confirmed. Based on the that result we changed the shape of the piston bore, the inner edge and thickness change of the model was designed to reinforce the strength. We used finite element method to compare existing piston with engineering product to an original product of stress distribution. We also compared that result with existing product for verification of reinforced strength model. Of the result of analysis, the comparison value of von Mises stress and S22 stress is decreased. The changed shape of the piston bore model is verified to be the safest structurally.

Roll Forming technology has a problem forming components by depending on only experiences without accurate data in actual field. To solve the problem, its necessary to analyze FEM of Roll Forming process. Main function of Roll Forming Tool is continuous bending work of materials thickness with few changes. Therefore, this research did a comparative study between FEM result of aluminum plate formed by Roll_Forming Tool and its experiment. FEM result shows that plastic deformation of aluminum plate can be practicable and it is similar to the result of thickness experiment. In addition, design of automatic roll forming machine helped forming process.
