In this study, physically based SWAT model was applied to estimate the daily stream flows and sediment yields in Gyeongancheon watershed. The calibration and validation of the model outputs have been performed with yearly and daily measured stream flows of the time period 1988-1991 and 2001. The application results showed a good agreement with the simulated and observed stream flows, and similar trend with simulated and observed sediment yields. Overall, SW AT is a reasonable watershed scale model on long-term simulations of stream flows and sediment yields for management purposes.
SCS TR-20 모형을 이용한 미계측 소유역의 홍수유출량 추정

The objectives of this study are to evaluate the applicability of SCS TR-20 model for small ungauged watershed, to show the behavior of the model with variation of topography in watershed, and to evaluate the storage effect of paddy field for flood flow. For this purpose, simulated data from the model were compared with the observed flood data at two sites (HS#3, HS#4) in Balan watershed. From the comparison between simulated and observed data, it was found that the model is applicable to this watershed.

A modified SCS TR-20 model that may be applied to a watershed having rice paddies as a land use type, was formulated and applied to a gauged watershed. The model was applied to the Balan watershed of 26 km<sup>2</sup> in size for estimating storm hydrographs. And the simulation results from the model were also compared with those from the SCS model. The results showed that paddy fields play an important role to reduce peak runoff. When fractions of paddies are left to fallow conditions or when rice crop is replaced by other, the peak runoff was found to increase up to 10 to 20 percent. The reduction rates in peak runoff appear to become greater for heavier storms or higher antecedent moisture conditions.
도시화에 따른 수문학적 영향 평가를 위한 시험유역의 운영

본 연구에서는 도시화에 따른 유역에서의 흥수 및 장기유출 변화, 그리고 수질 변화의 정량적 규명을 궁극적인 목적으로 두고, 이에 적합한 시험유역을 선정하였으며, 지속적인 수문계측을 수행하고 있다. 우선, 최근 택지개발지구로 선정된 판교신도시, 김포신도시, 은평뉴타운 지구를 후보지로 선정한 후, 대상지구에 대한 기초조사와 현장답사를 통하여 최종적으로 판교신도시 지구를 시험유역으로 결정하였다. 판교시험유역에 대한 지속적인 수문자료 확보를 위하여 금년도에 3개의 수위계와 1개의 강우계를 설치하여 10분 간격으로 수위 및 강우를 관측하고 있으며, 무선 인터넷 시스템을 통하여 실시간 모니터링을 하고 있다. 현재까지 관측된 수문자료로부터 일별 수위변화, 강우시의 실시간 수위변화를 분석한 결과, 세 지점 모두 비슷한 유출 반응 특성을 보이고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 향후 지속적인 수문관측과 관측지점의 확충을 통하여 고품질의 자료를 확보함으로써, 도시화 진행에 따른 유출 특성의 변화를 비교 분석해 나간다면, 도시화에 의한 수문학적 변화 양상을 정량적으로 규명할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. To quantitatively assess the watershed responses such as short-/long-term stream flow and water quality variations due to urbanization, an experimental catchment was selected in this study, and the continuous hydrological monitoring has been performing within the catchment. Among three new town sites within or near the city of Seoul, the Pangyo area was selected to be the experimental catchment after fundamental surveying and field investigation for the three areas. Three ultrasonic stream gauges and one rain gauge were set up in the Pangyo experimental catchment, and 10-min data of water level and rainfall depth have been measuring since the August of this year. The time-series of daily water level obtained from the three stream gauges resulted in the similar patterns during the rainy period. Especially during the non-rainy period, the regular variation in the hourly water level was founded. It would help US understand the characteristics of hydrologic response for the catchment. In the future, it would be able to evaluate quantitatively and qualitatively the hydrological effect with the progress of urbanization through the continuous monitoring and compilation of high quality data.
SWAT 모형을 이용한 소양강댐 유역의 비점오염 모델링

In this study, SWAT model was applied to the Soyang Dam upstream watershed in order to evaluate the model applicability for estimating runoff, sediment, and nutrients loadings from the watershed. By trial and error method, the model parameters related with runoff, sediment, nitrogen and phosphorus were calibrated step by step. Then the simulated runoff, sediment, and nutrients loadings by the model were compared with the observed data measured at the Soyang Dam, the outlet of the watershed. And several statistical criteria were calculated to evaluate the model performance. From the comparison and statistical criteria, good agreement between simulated and observed stream flows was found. For sediment and nutrients, it was not reliable to quantitatively model the observed values, but the model could simulate the trend with reasonable accuracy. Hence, it was concluded that the model can be applied for the long-term non-point modeling in a large watershed.

The NRCS curve number (CN) method has been widely adopted in practice to synthesize runoff hydrographs from small watersheds with complex land use. It may not be valid to apply this model for irrigated paddies, since hydrological characteristics of irrigated rice paddies are not sufficiently considered in CN method. This paper attempts to extend the capability of the well-known SCS TR-20 model to local conditions by formulating a submodel for the runoff-processes in paddies. The modified model was tested with field data from the Baran watershed. The results were in good agreement with field data. It was also applicable to simulate runoff changes resulting from land use changes within the watershed.
