The demand of electric energy has been increased continually due to its excellent conveniency and efficiency, and such demand has made the voltage of distribution system higher. Under such circumstance, a countermeasure against electric shock is also essential. In this paper a method for more effective application of earth leakage breaker is proposed for protection from electric shock, on the basis of possible electric contat condition, allowable contact valtage and distribution system variety.

In this paper, the consumers electric facilities are modelized from the grounding condition and electric equipment insulation resistance in the view-point of the safety of human body on the basis of the model, the computed value and the measured value of the current and voltage through the human body are analyzed and the recommendation for the human body safety in the electric facilities are suggested.

In this research, the protection method from earth lekage is considered. The ground values are established for effective use of electrical leakage breakers, by investigation of the relation between system ground and machine protection grounds of existing ground systems. In Korea, since distribution voltage was 110[V], earth leakage breaking methods were taken no interest. In recently, for reducing the distribution loss and the capacity of existing distribution equipments, the distribution voltage is raised to 220[V]. Consequently, it is required that protect the human body from the ground fault and the earth leakage is immediately required. For educing the oversensing and fault operating of electrical leakage breakers, the limit values of leakage capacitance is determined in low voltage distribution system. As discribed above, since the Korean standard for 220[V] distribution system was established on the basis of the technical standards, this research is indispensible. For application to the distribution system, this research is scientific and technical area will give much useful effect to Korean industry.
