The bubble behavior in a bubble column was observed, and its size and velocity were determined using two sets of probes measuring the resistance. From the measurement a local gas holdup was also obtained. Since the local gas holdup could be measured, the distribution of bubbles in the radial direction was able to find from the experiment. As a result, a correlation between gas holdup and the operating condition of the column, represented as Reynolds number, and the physical property, expressed as Galilei number, was made from the experimental data.

Gas holdup and volumetric liguid phase mass tranfer coefficient are measured according to superficial air velocity after putting distilled water and metalic salt solution which is discharged from industrial waste water in rectangular bubble column and cylindrical bubble column, respectively. The restults are as follows. 1. Volumetric liguid phase mass transfer coefficient increased with increasing superficial air velocity and liguid concentration. 2. Volumetric liguid phase mass transfer coefficient is affect by air velocity, properties of solution, hole area ratio of perforated plate and gas holdup. 입상활성탄의 입도 크기에 따른 자연발화 특성에 관한 연구

The spontaneous ignition characteristics according to particle size of granulated activated carbon were observed at a constant ambient temperature. As the results of the experiments at the same sample size, the ignition induction time increased as the sample vessel size increased and the critical spontaneous ignition temperature decreased as the sample vessel size increased. As the sample particle size increased, the critical spontaneous ignition temperature decreased. Apparent activation energy of the sample calculated from the Frank-Kamentskii's thermal ignition theory was 37.73 ㎉/㏖.
Calix[6]arene 유도체를 이용한 물속에 녹아있는 중금속 이온의 제거 효율성 연구

The removal effectiveness of various heavy metal ions in aqueous solutions has been studied by means of spectroscopic and pH method. Treatment of calix[6]arene-p-hexa-sulfonate and O-n-hexa[6]arene-p-sulfonate to heavy metal ion solutions showed a good result to remove the big size atomic radii of the heavy metal. Stability constants were depended on the variation of pH likely to show the absorbance is higher at pH 8~10 region.

The drying properties of the phenol resin moulding material was investigated according to drying temperature, drying time and recycle rate of exhausting gas in the Process of drying. We obtained the following results : water content of material decreases with increasing drying time and temperature, but increases with increasing recycle rate of exhausting gas. The correlation equation on water content of the phenol resin moulding material was obtained through a regression analysis of experimental data.
