Work done so far in the area of data warehousing has concentrated mainly both on building a data warehouse and on maintaining it. But, little attention has been paid to the area of using and analyzing warehouse data. While quite a few commercial OLAP tools for using warehouse data have become available, companies still have difficulties in selecting an OLAP tool which fits their specific purposes. In this paper, we propose a list of detailed and concrete items to be evaluated before deciding to select an OLAP tool, and describe two cases of verifying the usefulness of those items as a basis to select a tool. The items were derived on the basis of the desired OLAP features suggested by Codd, Pende and Raden. In the first verification case, we evaluated three ROLAP tools such as Brio Enterprise. InfoBeacon, and DSS Agent and in the second, we evaluated the ROLAP tool, DSS Agent, selected as the best in the first verification, and a MOLAP tool, EssBASE, holding the first market share in the worldwide OLAP market. What we have learned from the first verification is that the three ROLAP tools have some weakness in advanced statistical analyses, API for interface to client tool, built-in user-defined functions, aggregation functions, metadata management, and Korean character support. And the lessons from the second are that though the ROLAP tool has more improved features than the other tools in the first verification, it is still not satisfactory in supporting aggregation functions and Korean characters, and that the MOLAP tool also has the problem in supporting aggregation functions and Korean characters and in supporting metadata such as the compatibility with ETT metadata. From the two verifications, we concluded that the evaluation items are detailed and concrete enough to be used as a basis for selecting an OLAP tool. Further more, we learned that ROLAP tools are more appropriate for enterprise data warehouse and MOLAP for a specific data mart.

Tire performance is significantly influenced by the carcass tension distribution that is governed by the sidewall contour. To maximize the tire performance, it is very important for one to find the sidewall contour with the ideal tension distribution. But it is not easy to find such an optimal sidewall contour. Therefore, in order for a successful tire-shape optimization, we need to investigate how the change of sidewall radius influences on the carcass tension distribution. In this paper, we intend to numerically investigate the relation between the sidewall-radius change and the carcass tension distribution.

Today`s most commercial organizations are attempting to obtain a competitive advantage through a variety of the Web services. The impacts of corporation image based on this web environment have become increasingly significant for the business success and thus, establishing the corporation images are emerging as an important strategic issue. Therefore, this paper makes an experiment for analyzing the effects of web services quality on the corporation images. The research model includes three influential variables: the Web service quality, the communication strategy, and suffers` characteristic. Through the experiment, the variables are proved to be significant statistically in impacting on the corporation image. It is expected that the results will be employed effectively in developing Web marketing strategies.

Automobile maneuverability and tire durability are significantly influenced by the sidewall tire contour. In order to improve these tire performances, it is very important far one to determine a sidewall contour producing the ideal tension and strain-energy distributions. However, these requirements can nut be simultaneously achieved by conventional non-interactive multi-objective optimization methods based on mathematical programming, because these exhibit the conflicting behavior each other, with respect lo the sidewall contour. Therefore, we execute the tire contour optimization fur improving the maneuverability and the tire durability using satisficing trade-off method.

본 연구는 지벡(Seebeck)효과를 이용한 열전발전소자의 효율증가를 위한 Cooling System에 대한 연구이다. 열전발전소자는 Hot side와 Cool side의 온도차에 의해 전력발생 효율이 결정되며 열전발전소자가 견딜 수 있는 Hot Side의 온도는 고정돼 있는 반면, Cool Side의 온도는 Cooling System의 설계에 따라 온도 설정이 가능하다. 본 연구는 Cooling System은 방열판과 팬으로 구성된 공랭방식을 사용하였고, 냉각효율을 높이기 위해 방열판의 크기 및 모양, 팬의 크기와 속도, 공기의 이동방향에 따른 냉각특성을 실험하였고 그에 따른 특성들을 논하고자 한다.
