Vibrations on industrial generators can be divided into electromagnetic, mechanical and aerodynamic vibration. Among them, the electromagnetic vibration is produced by combination of natural frequency and harmonics of magnetic flux, so it is relatively hard to predict the electromagnetic vibration. In this paper, we developed 1-way coupled (magnetic, stiffness) analysis technology to evaluate characteristics of the vibration induced by electromagnetic field. With the analysis, we investigated the forced vibration characteristics considering radial magnetic force, which was calculated from the magnetic analysis, on stator core teeth of the generator. And structure design reducing the electromagnetic vibration of the generator was suggested from the analysis results.

The researches on the direct drive system, which directly transfers axle load of the traction motor to wheels, have been developed as a next generation drive system in Japan and Europe. As a result of excluding couplings and gear units, the direct drive system has advantages on the bogie mount space to be smaller sized, lower noisy, more efficient and less weighted than the conventional drive system - indirect drive system. Since the simplification of the direct drive system design depends on the design of the traction motors, the researches on the direct drive system with focusing on the traction motors get started. The advantages/disadvantages of direct drive system, types, structures, cooling systems and interfaces of the traction motors are presented on this paper. Furthermore, the development of other countries on the electric equipments of the next generation railway vehicles are discussed and the necessity & requirement for developing new concepts of traction motors are assured.
대용량 PAM 권선방식 유도전동기의 가속 특성 향상 연구

이 논문은 대용량 PAM 권선방식 유도전동기의 가속성능의 향상을 위한 연구이다. PAM권선의 변조방법은 일반적으로 전체코일을 사용하여 극수 변환하는 정현파 변조법이 주로 사용되는데, 이 방식의 전동기는 고조파 저감 및 전동기 특성 향상에 유리하나 기동 토크가 정격토크의 40%~50%로 가속특성이 저하되는 단점이 있다. 대용량 PAM 권선 방식 유도 전동기의 높은 가속 성능을 만족시키기 위하여 새로운 권선법인 부분코일 적용에 의한 정현파 변조방식을 제안하였으며, FEM해석을 통해 특성 및 성능을 확인하여 그 타당성을 입증하였다.

The induction motor with PAM winding can operate with 2-speed by changing the pole numbers through 3 phase leadconnection change. The PAM method can be applied with symmetric modulation or asymmetric modulation according to pole numbers. In case of 3 phase PAM winding including 6-multiple poles such as 6/8poles, 10/12poles, due to the asymmetric arrangement of the 3 phase winding, asymmetric modulation occurs and is more complex than symmetric modulation. Therefore, pole-changing motor with asymmetric modulation is required PAM winding design in order to minimize the unbalance and harmonic effect of the phase currents and to improve the characteristics of the motor. In this paper, the stator winding of the pole changing motor including 6-multiple poles, was designed to minimize the unbalance and harmonic currents by applying the symmetrization design theory including the Slot Star Vector method. The validity of the asymmetric PAM winding design method was verified through the Finite Element Method.
