        하수체척출(下垂體剔出) 숫흰쥐에 있어서 Testosterone Propionate의 투여(投與)가 부신(副腎)에 미치는 영향(影響)

        This study was made to investigate whether there would be any direct relationship between testis and adrenal gland. After the iadministration of testosterone propionate to the hypophysectomized male rats, weight of adrenal glands, each zona rates in adrenal gland and histological changes measured from the 1st day to 56th day of the experimental period. The results obtained were as follows; 1. For the weight changes of thyriod gland, it showed a similar changes between the hypophysectomized and the testosterone propionate treated-hypophysectomized group. However, the weight of adrenal glands for the treatment groups were decreased as the time passed as compared to the control group, and the difference were highly significance at the 7th day and there on. 2. For the zona rates in adrenal gland the changes were similar between the hypophysectomized and the testosterone propionate treated-hypophysectomized group. Zona fasciculata and reticularis were decreased rapidly as time passed as compared to the control group, and the difference were significant at the 7th day and highly significant at the 14th day and there on. Adrenal medulla tended to increase, showing a significance with P<0.05 at 7th day, and P<0.01 at 14th day and there on. Zona glomerulosa showed no differences among the groups. 3. Histological changes for the testosterone propionate treated-hypophysectomized group were similar to the hypophysectomized group. Of adrenal gland, zona fasciculata and reticular is were degenerated and lost their function as time passed after treatment, and zona glomerulosa and adrenal medulla were observed not bo changed. 4. Since there were re no differences in weight changes of adrenal glands, the zonarates in adrenal gland and histological changes between the hypophysectomized and testosterone propionate treated-hypophysectomized group, it would appear that there were no direct relationship between the testis and the adrenal gland, but the involvement of hypophysis might be necessary for the control mechanism.

        하수체척출 흰쥐에 있어서 성Hormone 의 투여가 갑상선에 미치는 영향

        The study was made to investigate whether there would be any direct relationship between. sexual gland and thyroid gland without the control mechanism from the hypophysis. After the administration of sex hormone to the albino rats (hexosterol to female and testosterone propionate to male), weights of thyroid glances, the uptake rate of radioactive iodine-131 (^(131)I) and histological changes were measured from the 1st day to 56th day cf the experimental period. The results obtained were as fo[lows; 1. For the weight changes cf thyroid gland, it shoved a similar changes between the hypophysectomized group and the sex hormone treated-hypophysectomized group. There were no sexual differences among the groups. However, the weights of thyroid gland for the treatment groups mere decreased as the time passed as compared to the control group, and the differences were highly significant at the 7th day and there on. 2. For the uptake rates of radioisotope-^(131)I the changes were similar between both sexes, but were decreased rapidly as time passed. The differences were significant at the first day and highly significant at the 7th day and there on for the hypophysectomized group. The changes for the sex hormone treated-hypophysectomized group were also similar to the hypophysectomized group. 3. In the histological changes of the thyroid gland, there mere no sexual differences among the groups. However, there were similar changes in both hypophysectomized groups and sex hormone treated-hypophysectomized group, showing slight squamous sign in follicular epithelial cells at the 7th day, but considerable degree of squamousl sign accompained with pyknosis of the cell and irregular enlargement of the follicles at the 14th day following the treatment. At the 28th day, it seemed that the degeneration was much progressed, and at the 43nd and 56th day, it showed karyorrhectic sign of follicular epithelial roils and therefore the loss of secretory function, histologically. 4. Since there were no differences in weight changes of thyroid gland, the uptake rates of radioisotope-^(131)I and histological change between the hypophysectomized and sex hormone treated-hypophysectomized groups, it would appear that there were no direct relationship between the sexual gland and the Thyroid gland. but the involvement of hypophysis might be necessary for the control mechanism.

        성 Hormone 의 투여가 하수체척출 흰쥐의 생식선에 미치는 영향

        To ascertain whether sex hormone affects directly on the gonad without the cooperation of hypophysis, rats were hypopysectomized and administered 6.0㎎ of various set hormones, hexestrol for female group and testosterone propionate for male group. The weight of gonads and histopathological alteration were compared with those of control, during the period from 1 to 56 days after hypophysectomy. The results were as follows; 1. No difference of the weight of gonad was observed between hypophyaectomized group and hypophysectomized group followed by sex hormone administration, but the weight of gonads of male and female groups were decreased after treatment and showed high significant difference from 7th day in female group and from 14th day in male group after treatment. 2. Although a marked degeneration of gonad was observed histopathologically in both male and female groups, no difference of the degeneration was found between hypophysectomized group and hypophysectomized and administered sex hormone group. This study indicate that sex hormone does not directly affect on the development of gonad, but cooperate with the function of hypophysis.

        하수체척출 암흰쥐에 있어서 Hexestrol 의 투여가 부신에 미치는 영향

        To ascertain whether ovary affects directly on the function of adrenal gland without the cooperation of hypophysis, rats were hypophysectomized and weight of adrenal gland, thickness of various zona of adrenal gland and histopathological changes were compared with those of control group during the period from 1 to 56 days. The results were summarized as follows; 1. No significant difference of adrenal gland weight was observed between hypophysectomized group and hypophysectomized and hexestrol administered group, but the adrenal gland weight of both experimental groups reduced consistently after hypophysectomy and high significant difference (P$lt;0.01) was observed compared with normal group from 7th day. 2. No significant alternation of the proportional size of adrenal zona was observed between hypophysectomized group and hypophysectomized and hexestrol administered group, but the marked atrophy of zona fasciculata and reticularis of both groups were found, and it showed significant difference (P$lt;0.05) from 7th day and high significant difference (P$lt;0.01) from 14th day whereas no difference of zona glomerulesa was observed between compared groups. 3. There was no difference of histopathological changes of gonad between hypophysectomized group and hypophysectomized and hexestrol administered group, but no atrophy of zona fasciculata and reticularis was found in experimental groups whereas zona glomerulesa and adrenal medulla was not altered compared with these of control group. These results indicate that ovary does not affect directly on the development of adrenal gland, but cooperate with the hypophysis.

        산란계에 오염된 방사성동위원소의 난 및 분중에서의 흡수 배설에 관한 실험적 연구

        This experiment was carried out in order to study the transference of the radioactive materials into eggs of laying hens. Eggs were taken as the samples first at ¾ day after injection of seven radioisotope (^(85+89)Sr, ^(45)Ca, ^(24)Na, ^(32)P, ^(35)S, ^(131)I and ^(55+59)Fe) in dose of 80 μci. to the thigh muscle of laying hens of each experimental group respectively and then i day interval. They were devided into 3 parts: egg yolk, egg white and egg shell, and their feces were taken at the same. Uptake rate of the radioisotopes into the 3 parts of eggs and release rate in feces were investigated. The results obtained were as follows; 1. Uptake rates of the radioisotopes into the egg yolk were the lowest at ¾ day after injection and were the highest at different time (^(24)Na: 2 ¾ days, ^(45)Ca: 4 ¾ days, ^(32)P: 3 ¾ days, ^(85+89)Sr and ^(35)S: 5 ¾ days, ^(55+59)Fe: 6 ¾ days) and thereafter decreased gradually, showing the significance with P$lt;0.01 in process of time. 2. Uptake rates into the egg white were the highest in the early stages: ^(131)I at ¾ day, ^(35)S and ^(24)Na at 1 ¾ day, ^(45)Ca and ^(85+89)Sr at 2 ¾ days, ^(55+59)Fe and ^(32)P at 3 ¾ days, and then decreased significantly (P$lt;0.01). 3. Uptake rate of ss+seFe into the egg shell were the highest at 2 ¾ days and the others at ¾ day, and showed the decreasing significance with P$lt;0.01. 4. Release rates of ^(32)P and ^(55+59)Fe into the feces were the highest 1 ¾ day and the others at ¾ day, and then decreased significantly(P$lt;0.01) as the time elapses. 5. The transference rates of the radioisotopes into eggs of laying hens showed a tendency to be in direct proportion to their half life. The transference of ^(24)Na was insignificant about 6 days after injection and that of the others were ended about 10 days. The transference rate of ^(24)Na was high into the egg white and that of ^(55+59)Fe into the egg yolk only, being insignificant into the other parts.
