        단게 겐조(丹下健三) 건축의 디자인방법론적 특성변화에 관한 연구 - 기능주의적 경향과 구조주의적 경향을 중심으로 -

        본 연구는 일본 건축가 단게 겐조(丹下健三)의 건축에서 1960년대를 기점으로 나타났던 중요한 변화에 대해 그 원인과 결과를 분석하는 것을 목표로 한다. 일본의 초기 현대건축을 성공적으로 이끌었던 단게는 1960년 무렵부터 일본의 새로운 시대, 새로운 건축을 위해 자신이 추구했던 기존의 기능주의적 경향에서 벗어나 구조주의적 방법을 제시했다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 단게가 1960년대 이후 지향했던 구조주의적 경향이 이전 시기의 기능주의적 경향으로부터 어떤 발전과 변화 를 이루어 결과적으로 어떤 차이를 보이는지, 또한 구조주의적 경향으로의 변화에 영향을 미친 원인들은 무엇인지 등에 대 해 연구한다. 결론적으로 단게의 이론은 기존 기능주의의 개념을 부정하는 대안의 제시라기보다는 기능주의와 구조주의 모 두를 포괄하는 것으로서 기능요소와 그 구조화를 통해 오히려 기존의 기능주의가 가졌던 단점을 보완하면서 효율적인 기능 의 재정비를 이루었다고 할 수 있다. This study aims to analyze the causes and results of the significant changes in the architecture of Japanese architect Kenzo Tange in the 1960s. For a new era and new architecture of Japan, Tange who has been successful in leading the early modern architecture of Japan. since the 1960s, proposed a structuralist approach, deviating from the existing functionalist tendencies that he has pursued. Therefore, in this paper, we examine what structural changes tend to be made in the post-1960s from the functionalist tendencies of the previous period, and what causes the changes to structuralist tendencies. In conclusion, rather than suggesting alternatives to deny the existing concept of functionalism, Tange's theory encompassed both functionalism and structuralism and achieved the effective reorganization of functions while complementing the disadvantages of existing functionalism through functional elements and their structuring.

        단게 겐조(丹下健三)의 건축에서 전통성 표현에 관한 연구 - 형식적 측면을 중심으로 -

        단게 겐조는 현대건축의 창작 과정에서 전통을 어떻게 표현할 것인가에 관심을 가졌고, 일본건축의 전통성을 자신만의 방식으로 현대건축에 표현하려고 노력하였다. 특히, 단게는 자신이 주장했던 ‘新전통’의 관점에서 전통을 건축 재료나 구성요소적 측면에서 표현하였다. 단게는 건축재료와 구성요소 등에서 일본 전통건축의 조형을 서양의 기술과 조화시킴으로써 국제 건축계의 담론과 상응하면서도 서양의 것과는 구별되도록 전통건축에 근간을 둔 ‘일본적인 건축양 식’을 창조하였다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 단게가 건축에 사용한 건축재료와 구성요소에서의 전통의 표시나 흔적을 찾아 분석하는 것을 목표로 했다. 이와 같은 연구를 통해 서구의 문명을 거의 비슷한 시기에 받아들였음에도 불구하고, 그것 을 소화하여 전통건축과 접목하는 데는 일본과 매우 다른 과정과 결과를 가졌던 우리 건축계에 시사점을 갖고자 한다. Kenzo Tange was interested in how to express tradition in the process of creation of modern architecture and tried to express the traditionaluty of Japanese architecture in his own way. In particular, Tange expressed Japanese tradition in terms of building materials and components from the point of view of his own ‘New Tradition’. Tange created the ‘Japanese style of architecture’ based on traditional architecture to match the discourse of international architecture and distinguish it from the Western one, by harmonizing the plasticity of Japanese traditional architecture with the Western technology in building materials and components. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the signs and traces of traditions in the building materials and components in his architecture. Through this study, I would like to have implications for our architecture, which had a very different process and result from Japan in digesting and combining it with traditional architecture although Western civilization was accepted at about the same time.

        단게 겐조(丹下健三)의 건축에서 나타나는 전통성 해석에 관한 연구

        일본의 초기 현대건축을 성공적으로 이끌었던 단게 겐조는 1950년대부터 건축의 현실적 창작 과정에서 전통을 어떻게 표현할 것인가에 관심을 가졌고, 일본건축의 전통성을 자신만의 방식으로 현대건축에 표현하려고 노력하였다. 단게는 전통적인 형태 그대로를 보존하는 방식의 기존 전통론으로는 더 이상 일본의 전통성을 국제적인 것으로 만들 수 없다고 생각했고, 따라서 자신의 ‘新전통’을 통해 전통을 끊임없는 혁신에 의해서만 지속되는 것, 창의적인 활동을 자극하는 촉매제로서 결과에는 흔적을 남기지 않는 것으로 주장했다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 단게가 자신의 건축에서 주장했던 ‘신전통’에 대해 그 개념과 특성을 분석하는 것을 목표로 했다. Kenzo Tange who had successfully led Japan's early modern architecture has been interested in how to express tradition in the process of realistic creation of architecture since the 1950s. He tried to express the tradition of Japanese architecture in modern architecture in his own way. Tange believed that existing theory of tradition preserving traditional forms would no longer make Japan's tradition international. Therefore, he insisted that through his own ‘new tradition’, the tradition is maintained only by constant innovation, and that it does not leave traces in the results as a catalyst to stimulate creative activities. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the concept and characteristics of 'new tradition' which Tange has claimed in his architecture.

        아키그램 건축에서 나타나는 유기적 특징과 비유기적 특징의 통합에 관한 연구

        This paper was to analyze the fusion between the organic and inorganic characteristics performed in architecture and urbanism, especially on the characteristics found in the works of Archigram group who was very active during 1960s and 70s. Generally, it was thought that Archigram drew its ideas mainly from a mechanist metaphor and that the diagrams of its members were based on the notion of the material obsolescence, which could be placed in a British tectonic tradition. But, Archigram's works has been continually influenced by the biological-organic analogy from the birth of the group to its dissolution. Simply, the importance that the biological-organic analogy takes in the works of Archigram has changed periodically according to the change of its members. We can divide generally Archigram group in two parts : on one hand, nascent members such as Peter Cook, Dennis Greene, Michael Webb ; on the another hand, three members who participated from LCC such as Warren Chalk, Ron Herron, Dennis Crompton. As the new three LCC members participated, Archigram Group focalized on the technological part more than ever. But, when its members dispersed geographically and professionally, its biological-organic analogy came out again at the surface of their works. However, Archigram's organic and inorganic characteristics did not always adhere in opposing position with each other and took the form of coexistence in harmony at the same period. That is, the works of Archigram were persuing the creation of community that nature, technology and architecture could communicate and harmonize with each other through the intergration between organic and inorganic characteristics. The reason why Archigram became the one of the most excellent architectural avant-garde group in the 60s was mainly to receive asssitance with the fact that two small groups having contradictory tendencies got together and formed the Archigram group.

        The purpose of this study is to analyse Viollet-le-Duc's position in architecture histology and his influence on forming of modern architecture by searching how his study, searching logical structure in method using new materials like unity between construction and thoughts in Gothic architecture, was achieved, starting from question that Viollet-le-Duc's study of Gothic architecture simply manifested how large cathedrals were built safely in structure.

        키쿠다케 키요노리(菊竹清訓)의 ‘해상도시’ 계획에 관한 연구

        This study performs the analysis on the ‘Marine City’ projects of japanese Metabolist Kiyonori Kikutake. With the criticism on their unreality, his projects have been often treated like sci-fi comics. However, Kikutake’s ‘Marine City’ projects have been not the result of simple fantasy, but the radical and systematic challenge for the future city based on socio-cultural realities of the postwar japanese society such as urban reconstruction, rapid economic growth and the traditional debate. Therefore, this paper reestablish the relations which Kikutake’s utopian projects had with the socio-cultural context of the time through the analysis on their history of formation, background, object of analogy, characteristics, etc. and again analyses them in terms of the urban cultural crisis of the japanese society. Kikutake’s ‘Marine City’ projects proposes the direction of the future city and architecture through the exhaustive analysis and criticism on the modern architecture and human civilization.

        ‘전통’이 일본 메타볼리즘 그룹의 형성에 미친 영향에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study is to analyze the influences of a tradition in the formation of japanese "Metabolism" group. Until now in the world architectural circle, the Metabolism group rated simply as a group of contemporary avant-garde architects who have used biological analogy. But, to define the Metabolism group and its architecture simply as a avant-garde architectural group is insufficient to understand its architectural characteristics and aim. Therefore, in this study, I focused on Metabolism"s architectural purpose rather than its experimental architectural images or theories as a result. By tracing about the formation of group, I analyzed of how the new architectural attempts of Metabolism which have combined japanese tradition with Modern architecture established in the World architectural trend. Although korean architectural circumstances are different with japanese Metabolism"s, to succeed the culture and tradition is also our urgent problem and we need to have such a critical mind. Therefore, this study would be expected to help the awareness of these issues.
