Objective : The purpose of this study was to verify the effect of a single-session, positive psychology-based, strength-enhancing workshop for psychiatrists. The program is composed of lecture about positive psychology and workshop activities for identifying and utilizing character strengths. Methods : A total of 42 psychiatrists participated in this study. The program consisted of a lecture about positive psychology and workshop activities for identifying and utilizing character strengths. Results of a positive resources test, given before and after the session, were used to assess changes in the personal positive resources of the participants as a result of the program. Results : We noted significant increases in participants' satisfaction with life, positive affect, gratitude, acceptance, positive and cognitive emotion regulation, orientation of life, growth, spirit, autonomy, social support, and care factors after completion of the program. On additional analysis, spirit and care scores of female participants's were significantly increased than male participants's. Conclusion : The findings are meaningful in verifying the efficacy of a short-term intervention to improve psychiatrists's positive resources.

This study investigated the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety(MFDS) web space awareness, the current status of use for MFDS web space, and influential factors on the satisfaction with the MFDS web space. Also, it analyzed the relationship between the satisfaction with web space and the organization reputation. In order to examine research questions, an online survey was conducted by 1,000 adults over the age of 19 in South Korea. According to results, 71.3% of respondents were aware of the MFDS web space. MFDS web space experienced users (n =210) visited to pursue mainly inquiries / information. Influential factors on the satisfaction with web space were five: `Two-way communication`, `Dialogic loop`, `Usefulness information`, `Generation of return visits`, and `Ease of interface`. The variant that had the most powerful effect in the satisfaction with web space was `Two-way communication`. The satisfaction with web space positively affected to the organization reputation. Organization and health issue involvements did not have the moderating effect between satisfaction with web space and the organ-ization reputation. These results provide theoretical and practical implications for effectively managing web space and improving the organization reputation.

Objective : The purpose of this study was to verify the differences of expressed character strengths graded as per the Korean Strength Scale, based on the type of work. Methods : A total of 2,444 conglomerate workers were classified into two groups: 1,356 office workers and 1,088 production workers. The subjects were examined through a web or mobile application based on the Korean Strength Scale. The Korean Strength Scale consists of a total of four top entries and 25 sub-items with appropriate validity. Results : The difference in the average score of sum of character strengths between the two groups was not significant. In the office worker group, character strengths such as love of learning, creativity, perspective, curiosity, facilitation, judgment and faith had significantly high scores. On the other hands, modesty, hope, gratitude, sincerity, magnanimity and self-regulation were high in the production worker group. The results remained unchanged in additional analysis of covariants as sex, age and education level, except for self-regulation and faith. Conclusion : Our results suggest significant differences in the character strengths between the two types of work; however, the average of sum of character strength score remains unchanged. These results may help to understand differences between work environments and thus help to establish a positive foundation.

부모양육태도와 사회적지지가 자기주도학습능력에 미치는 영향: 기본 심리적 욕구 만족의 매개효과

본 연구에서는 고등학생이 지각한 부모양육태도와 사회적지지가 자기주도학습능력에 미치는 영향에서 기본 심리적 욕구 만족의 매개효과를 조사하였다. 이를 위해 서울지역에 소재하는 5개 일반계 고등학교에 재학 중인 고등학생 494명으로부터 자료를 수집하였고, 수집된 자료는 구조 방정식 모형을 이용하여 자료를 분석하였으며, 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부모양육태도와 자기주도학습능력의 관계에서 부모양육태도는 자기주도학습능력에 직접적인 영향을 미친다. 둘째, 부모양육태도와 자기주도학습능력의 관계에서 기본 심리적 욕구 만족의 매개효과가 유의하다. 셋째, 사회적지지와 자기주도학습능력의 관계에서 사회적지지는 자기주도학습능력에 직접적인 영향을 미치지 않는다. 넷째, 사회적지지와 자기주도학습능력의 관계에서 기본심리욕구의 매개효과가 유의하다. 즉, 고등학생이 지각한 부모양육태도와 사회적지지는 기본 심리적 욕구 만족을 통해 자기주도학습능력에 직간접적으로 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과의 교육 및 상담적 의의와 함께 제한점 및 후속 연구에 대한 제안을 함께 논의하였다. The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of parenting attitudes and social support on high school students` self-directed learning ability and to investigate the mediating effect of psychological needs satisfaction. For that purpose, the data were collected from 494 general high school students and analyzed using structural equation modeling. The major findings of this research were as follows: First, parenting attitudes had a direct effect on the relation between parenting attitudes and self-directed learning ability. Second, basic psychological needs satisfaction had a significant mediating effect on the relation between parenting attitudes and self-directed learning ability. Third, social support had no direct effect on the relations between social support and self-directed learning ability. Fourth, basic psychological needs satisfaction had a significant mediating effect on the relation between social support and self-directed learning ability. Thus, parenting attitudes and social support perceived by general high school students have effects directly or indirectly on self-directed learning ability through basic psychological needs satisfaction. Based on these findings, implications for counseling practice and suggestions for follow-up study were discussed.

Dental caries is an infectious disease that is caused by the interaction between the host, the diet, and a diverse microbial community. This study illustrated the anticariogenic effects of THYJ-15 against Streptococcus mutans, a major agent of dental caries. THYJ-15 was identified as Latilactobacillus sakei subsp. sakei through 16S rRNA sequencing, with a similarity of 99.72% to L. sakei subsp. sakei JCM 1157T. The cell-free supernatant of L. sakei subsp. sakei THYJ-15 observed MIC values of 10 mg/mL and MBC values of 20 mg/mL against S. mutans KACC 16833T. The cell-free supernatant of L. sakei subsp. sakei THYJ-15 showed significant inhibitory effects on biofilm formation, acid production and glucosyltransferases(GTFs) production against S. mutans. As a results, it was confirmed that L. sakei subsp. sakei THYJ-15 is a lactic acid bacterium possessing notable anticariogenic effects. Accordingly, L. sakei subsp. sakei THYJ-15 is expected to have great potential to be used as a basic substance for dental caries treatment caused by S. mutans.
