본 논문에서는 성층권 통신망(HAPS)과 기존 위성망 및 지상망과의 원활한 공유를 위해서 진행되고 있는 HAPS 시스템의 간섭경감기법에 관한 연구 동향을 분석한다. 이를위해서 2006년 6월 27일부터 7월 5일까지 개최된 ITU-R WP9B 회의를 통하여 논의된 주요 결과들을 중심으로 살펴보고자 한다. Ka 대역에서 고정업무(FS)용으로 활용가능한 HAPS 시스템의 간섭경감기법으로 5가지가 제안되었으며, 특히 본 회의에서는 디지털빔형성(DBF) 기법을 적용한 탑재안테나의 다중빔 패턴의 성능분석 결과들이 제시되었다. HAPS 시스템의 간섭경감기법으로 디지털빔 형성기법을 적용함에 있어서 그 필요성과 ITU-R WP9B에서 논의되고 있는 내용들을 중심으로 간섭경감기법 분석 결과를 기술하고 본 내용과 관련한 ITU-R에서의 향후 연구 전망 등을 살펴보고자 한다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the High Pull J-hook Headgear in retraction the maxillary 4 incisors. The maxillary part of a dry skull that had Angle's Class Ⅱ malocclusion and axes of the central incisors were 60 degrees to the occlusal plane was duplicated with epoxy resin. In this epoxy resin model, the maxillary 4 incisors were retracted by the 1㎜ activated vertical closing loop, High Pull J-hook Headgear with a directional force of 34 degrees to the occlusal plane and 600g in total force, and both of them. The obtained stress distributions around the roots were analysed by three dimensional photoelastic method. The results were as follows; 1. When the maxillary 4 incisors were retracted by the 1㎜ activated vertical closing loop, simple lingual tipping movement patterns were shown. 2. When the maxillary 4 incisors were retracted by the High Pull J-hook Headgear with a directional force of 34 degrees to the occlusal plane and 600g in total force, intrusive bodily movement patterns were shown. 3. When the maxillary 4 incisors were retracted by the 1㎜ activated vertical closing loop and the High Pull J-hook headgear with a directional force of 34 degrees to the occlusal plane and 600g in total force, simple lingual tipping movement patterns and intrusive bodily movement patterns were shown in the same time. Exam administration agreement was signed by the Korean Professional Engineers Association (KPEA) and the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) at the 2nd National Convention of Professional Engineers on 6 September 2008. Korean engineers can take U.S. Professional Engineer examination under proctor of KPEA in Korea from next April. It helps to broaden for Korean young engineers to have a chance to work and to be recognized as a professional engineer in the U.S. This is a brief introduction of U.S. Professional Engineer system and examination.
유한요소해석을 이용한 M8 블라인드 리벳 너트 형상 최적 설계

Blind rivet nuts are increasingly used in automotive for the joining of sheets. Their application, however, requires appropriate design guides to prevent catastrophic events arising from the failure of joints. In this study, the shaft shape of a frequently used M8 blind rivet nut is optimized based on 3D numerical analysis of the blind rivet nut considering the characteristics of thread. The thread needs to be modeled to suitably consider the fastening of the M8 bolt after the crimping process. FE analysis showed that while the friction in the contact between crimp flange and plate has no significant effect on the crimp geometry, shaft thickness (t) and shaft height (h) are the most significant design variables. The parameter study including various combinations of t and h reveals that they affect the gap (the distance between the crimped flange and the plate that develops through riveting) and the load acting on the plate. The gap is an indicator of the tightening force. It is found that t is inversely proportional to the gap, and proportional to the load, whereas h is proportional to the gap and inversely proportional to the load. Based on our FE analysis results, we propose the range 0.062 < t/h < 0.1 to ensure sufficient fastening (high clamping load, small gap) of the M8 blind rivet nut. The design guide for determining the t/h ratio proposed in this study can be used for general quantitative analysis of the size and the t/h ratio of blind rivet nuts.

WRC-2000 회의를 계기로 성층권 통신시스템용 주파수가 새롭게 분배됨에 따라 정보통신 인프라가 취약한 후진국 및 개도국뿐만 아니라 여러 선진국들을 중심으로 성층권 비행선을 이용한 통신 및 무선응용 서비스의 활용에 대해서 관심이 점점 높아지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 성층권 통신시스템의 개요를 소개하고 WRC-2000 회의의 HAPS(High Altitude Platform Station) 관련 주요 의제 및 진행 경과와 결과를 중심으로 국제 표준화 동향을 알아보고자 한다. 그리고 현재 미국, 일본 및 유럽 등 몇몇 기술 선진국을 중심으로 진행되고 있는 성층권 통신시스템 개발과 관련하여 기술 개발 동향에 대해서 살펴보고 성층권 통신시스템(HAPS)의 기대효과 및 향후 전망에 대해서 논의하고자 한다.
