반려동물과 함께 생활하는 사람들은 나날이 증가하는 추세이고, 반려동물에 대한 사람들의 인식 또한 가족처럼 평생 함께하는 동반자로 바뀌기 시작하였다. 이러한 인식변화와 기술변화에 발맞춰 반려 동물시장에 ICT(Information and Communication Technology)를 접목한 "Pet ICT"분야가 각광받기 시작하였다. 본 논문에서는 반려견과 사람사이의 커뮤니케이션을 연구문제로 설정하였고, 개의 꼬리를 통한 사람과의 인터랙션에 집중하였다. 개의 꼬리는 감정을 표현하는 주 수단으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 개의 꼬리에 측정 장치를 부착하여 감정을 측정하며, 더불어 활동량과 수면량을 같이 측정함으로써, 객관적인 데이터를 바탕으로 견주가 반려견을 체계적으로 관리 할 수 있는 정보를 제공한다. 본 연구에서 개 꼬리를 이용하여 개와 사람간의 새로운 소통의 인터랙션 방법을 제안함으로써, 견주와 반려견 사이의 새로운 형태의 소통 가능성을 제시하는데 연구의 의의가 있다. The number of people living with companion animals has been growing, and the perception of companion animals also has changed to consider them as life partners or like family members. Technology adapted along with this change in perception, and “Pet ICT” has begun drawing attention in the companion animal market with ICT (Information and Communication Technology). In this research paper, the subject of inquiry is communication between companion animals and people and the experiment focuses on this interaction with people through the tail of a dog. The tail of a dog has been believed to be the primary way to express its emotion. According to the research, objective data offers dogs’ owners information that allows them to systematically control their dogs, estimating not only the dog’s emotions in a device attached on its tail but also its amount of activity and sleeping hours. The research suggests a new method of interaction between people and dogs through the tail of a dog, resulting in the experimentally significant possibility of a new form of communication between the owner and the companion dog.
