A pulse with modulation(PWM) that keeps a constant angle of dwell and adjust duty ratio is a good method to control a speed of SRM. And a method of one pulse control is proper a operation on range of high speed in SRM for a good energy efficiency. Because PWM method is more safety than one pulse method, conversion of those is best choice according the speed range. So, some algorithm is need for smooth conversion of the mode of control. This paper presents a factor of conversion that proper the conversion of control mode between PWM and one pulse method This factor is from estimation of torque and proper at the variable range of conversion and show the better conversion characteristic than constant factor of conversion.

Recently, vehicles equipped with power steering have came into widespread use. Most power steering systems are hydraulically power assisted. However, the fuel consumption of vehicles equipped with a hydraulic power-steering system is worse than that of manual steering systems because oil pressure must be continuously boosted. EPS systems are on-demand systems that operate only when the driver requires. Hence, using EPS enables us to improve fuel consumption and reduce emissions. This has encouraged the present great increase in equipped vehicles. Nowadays, mainly used motor for use of the EPS is the BLDC motor. But this motor weak to heat for that has permanent magnet. Therefore BLDC motor needs a temperature compensation device. It causes price increase. Therefore this paper presents Synchronous Reluctance motor and control method for use of the EPS motor. This motor has not any permanent magnet in the rotor but only core. This point harden to heat so it needs not a temperature compensation device. And generally speed control of SynRM uses the current magnitude control. But this control method follows the order slowly. Therefore this paper brings in current phase control for fast following and torque ripple reduction.

The MDPS(Motor Driven Power Steering) system is important part in order to give a driver comfortable and safety driving condition during control of power steering. Generally features are required for MDPS as rapid response from torque sensor, high efficiency, low vibration. In the vehicle system, the motors are necessary parts for increasing quality of vehicle performance. Especially the permanent-magnet synchronous motor is good choice for high efficiency by motor size standards, because of limitation space of vehicle system. But the design of permanent-magnet motor is considered essentially to temperature of motor operation, demagnetization of magnet, characteristics of torque, etc. Thus this paper analyzes to design parameters for the torque ripple.

This paper presents the control method that inverter output keeps to linear to reference voltage of Synchronous Reluctance Motor using DC Link voltage Synthesis. The Inverter output voltage cannot be displayed to linear about inverter reference voltage if Real DC Link voltage is different from DC Link voltage of PWM amplitude. Also, the overmodulation that there is linearity broken if reference voltage is out of range that inverter can output voltage. Torque ripple generates the vibration and noise of a motor. This paper proposes the control method so that torque ripple decreases and the linearity of inverter output keeps using the DC Link voltage Synthesis.
