        종자은행 보존 벼 유전자원의 생태형별 종자수명

        The purpose of this study was to know the seed longevity of rice (Oryza sativa L.) germplasm for effective viability monitoring. The longevity was determined via germination tests of 3,066 accessions of rice germplasm from the National Agrobiodiversity Center, Rural Development Administration, Korea. The rice germplasm accessions have been conserved at a mid-term storage (4°Csealed metal can on either sides for 25~26.5 years. The final germination percentages of 3,066 rice germplasm accessions of 6.5±1.0% seed moisture content with 94% initial germination stored at 4°C for 26.5 years declined to 47% while at -18°C for 25 years maintained high germinability as 93%. Germination time courses, which represent the average performance of rice ecotypes stored at 4°C and 30% RH, were fitted regression equation, to calculate the time at which germination characteristically declined to 50% (P50). These P50 values of Indica, Japonica, Javanica and Tongil type in rice were 39.9, 22.9, 25.4 and 31.8 years, respectively. The rice germplasm stored at 4°C could be clustered in 4 groups using quartile of final germination after 26.5 years storage. The seed longevity (P50) of each group was estimated by regression equation of changed germination percentages according to storage periods. The P50 values of group Ⅰ, group Ⅱ, group Ⅲ and group Ⅳ were 21.1, 23.6, 30.0 and 75.7 years.

        고엽제환자 지원사업의 성과와 과제

        This study is to find the avenue to the successful defoliant victim aid project for patients who suffer long-term effects of exposure to Agent Orange,akind of defoliant,in theVietnam Waror the Southern Limit Line at the Demilitarized Zone in the late 1960s.In this regard,an analysis was made of budget execution,defects to be compensated and countermeasures,and a review was made ofdefoliantvictim aid system from overallperspective.In addition,the performance analysis framework was setup,and interviews were had with hands-on staff. An investigation was made into the appropriateness and effectiveness ofpatientexamination system,epidemiologicalsurvey,specialaid system and victim aid project,where through defectsand countermeasures were reasoned out.The project aims at giving aid not only to defoliant victims butto their children,given the factthatthe damage affects even them.Itis very significant in that the project is held responsible certainly for persons who sacrificed themselves for their country.Moreover,its performance was judged to be sufficient.Considering national veterans welfare services inferior to advanced countries,this project is deemed to be remarkably significant in the social dimension. 본 연구는 월남전에 참전 또는 1960년대 후반 대한민국 비무장지대 남방한계선 지역에서 근무하다가 제초제 중의 하나인 고엽제(Agent Orange)에 노출되어 피해를 입은 환자들을 지원하기 위한 고엽제환자지원사업의 사업추진방식 및 예산집행의 효율성을 분석하고 이를 통해 개선점과 발전방안을 모색함을 목적으로 하고 있다. 이를 위해 고엽제환자 지원제도 및 현황을 제도적으로 고찰하고, 고엽제환자지원사업의 전반적인 현황에 대해 검토하였다. 또한 고엽제환자지원사업 성과분석에 맞는 성과분석틀을 구축하고 성과분석을 위해 사업담당자 인터뷰를 실시하였다. 성과분석틀에 맞춰 고엽제환자지원사업인 고엽제환자검진, 고엽제역학조사, 고엽제특별지원, 고엽제단체지원사업의 적절성과 효과성을 분석하고, 이를 통해 각 사업별 문제점과 개선방안을 도출하였다. 고엽제환자 지원사업은 고엽제환자들의 복지와 참전군인들의 보훈선양을 위한 국가적·사회적 의의와 법적 근거를 토대로 그 타당성을 확보하고 있었으며, 사업추진방식 또한 적절한 것으로 나타났고 사업의 성과 또한 충분히 제시 가능하였다. 고엽제환자에 대한 지원은 그 피해가 당사자에 한정되지 않고, 2세에게 까지 영향을 미친다는 점을 감안할 때 국가를 위한 희생을 끝까지 책임진다는 측면에서 사회적 의의가 큰 사업이라고 볼 수 있다.

      • BudR편입法과 ^3H-thymidine autoradiography에 의한 不活性 X-染色體의 判別

        The mechanism of X-chromosome replication is not yet fully defined. One of the key question concerning the control of mammalian X-chromosome differentiation is whether the process in one of inactivating a previously active X, or of a activation a single X, leaving any other inactive. It is well established that facultatively heterochromatic and late replicating X is not present until a blastocyst stage in such mammalian species as have been investigated by Lyon, et al. Thus, identification of inactive and active X-chromosome is one of interesting subject in the human genetics. Inactive X-chromosome has been detected by means of BudR Incorporation and ^3H-thymidine autoradiography. The result obtained that the: ·percentage of Barr body appearance was 30∼40%. ·autoradiography was heavily labelled on inactive X-chromosome. ·R-band was lightly stained on inactive X-chromosome. Therefore, identification of inactive X-chromosome would be important to evalute the correlations of sex linked abnormalities.
