PDMS modified epoxy resin with epoxy group (EMPDMS) was prepared from the reaction of α,ω-aminopropylpolydimethylsiloxaneand diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-A (DGEBA) based epoxy resin, and PDMS modified epoxy hybrid compound (EMPDMSH)was prepared by introducing alkylesteraminopropyl alkoxy silane to EMPDMS. Their structures were characterized usingFT-IR, 1H-NMR and 29Si-NMR. Coating materials were prepared by mixing EMPDMSH base and solvent. Physical propertiesof the coating materials coated on epoxy/glass fiber composite film were measured according to the content of PDMS inEMPDMSH. Contact angle of coating film was increased 30 to 71 degree. Adhesive property of coating film was 5B degreebetter then epoxy or acrylate coating materials, and surface roughness was decreased as increasing in EMPDMSH.

To prepare a O/W type durable softner(OEsA), octadecamidoethylaminoethyl dodecate and tetra(2-dodecaminoethyl) urea synthesized as the main components of softner, were blended with polyoxyethylene(20) oleyl ether sorbitan sesquioleate, and polyoxyethylene(7) stearyl ether in various compositions. Emulsion stability of OESA was found was to be good durable softner for nylon through the examination of softness, lubrication, antistatic property, bending resistance, and color fastness.

Polyurethane (PU) foam elastomer prepared using polyester polyol has an excellent mechanical properties, but has the poor water proofness, compared with PU foam elastomer prepared using polyether polyol. PU foam elastomer was prepared by the reaction of NCO-prepolymer and polyester polyols obtained from 1,6-hexanediol (HD) and neopentyl glycol (NG) with adipic acid (AA). The water proofness of the elastomer was determined by measuring the change of mechanical properties of the elastomer according to hydrolytic degradation.
