스테이터의 재질에 따른 Cross형 초음파 회전모터의 구동특성

Novel structure ultrasonic motors which have cross type stator were designed and fabricated. Driving characteristics of the motors were analyzed and measured by changing the materials of the stator. This ultrasonic motor has stator with hollowed cross bar and the stator rotate the rotor using elliptical displacement of the inside tips. This motion is generated by lateral vibration mode of cross bars. This stator was analyzed by finite element analysis depandent on stator's materials. And the cross type ultrasonic motors were made by analyzed results. The larger displacements were obtained, when the density of material was decreased. But the stress was increased when the stator's material has large density and Young's modulus. The fabricated one has high speed and torque in large stress on contact point between rotor and stator. The stress was more effected on speed and torque than the displacement.

In this paper, the characteristic of the piezoelectric generator which has a circular type bender was studied for more efficiently converting the mechanical energy to electrical energy. The generator consisted of circular type vibrating plate, thin piezoelectric ceramics, stub and mass. The generator was simulated with FEM(finite element method) program as changing size of each part. When the thickness of the piezoelectric ceramics and the vibrating plate was decreased and the diameter of the vibrating plate was increased, the frequency was decreased. And the output voltage was increased when the diameter of the piezoelectric ceramics and the vibrating plate was increased and the thickness of the piezoelectric ceramics and vibrating plate.

In this paper, the characteristics of a thin-type ultrasonic motor generating elliptical displacements analyzed by FEM are presented, and then fabrication of the motor is then described. The structure of the motor consists of sixteen ceramic pieces attached to the upper and bottom surfaces of an elastic body. The principle of the motor is to apply alternating voltages which have a 90 phase difference to the attached ceramics, and then elliptical displacements are generated at four edges of the elastic body. Then the rotor is moved by the elliptical displacements. In the case of a ceramic thickness of 1.5, the highest speed was obtained at 79 kHz. In the case of a ceramic thickness of 2 mm, the highest speed was obtained at 77.5 kHz. Consequently, the speed and torque of the ultrasonic motor (USM) increased linearly with increasing applied voltage.

On this paper, piezoelectric generators using piezoelectric ceramics were designed and fabricated. Generators were made by attaching cymbal type metal plates on upper and bottom sides of a disc type piezoelectric ceramic. Generator converts wasting mechanical energy to electrical energy. Output voltage was increased when thickness of ceramic and displacement of vibration were increased. Temperature of the ceramic was increased when it generates, but the temperature rising was saturated at certain temperature.

On this paper, a circular unimorph-type piezoelectric transducer was proposed and studied. The transducer was fabricated by attaching a circular-shaped PZT ceramic to a circular plate of brass and output characteristics of the fabricated transducer were then analyzed and measured by changing driving points where the mechanical vibrations were applied. Two conditions depending on the location of vibration were respectively defined as a center forced model and an edge forced model. The resonance frequency and output voltage of the models were simulated by using ANSYS, a FEM(finite element method) program. Based on the results of the analyses, the vibration experiment was conducted and the output characteristics then measured through measurement equipment. As a result, the maximum output characteristics of two models were respectively generated at each resonance frequency and the resonance frequency of the center forced model was lower than the edge forced model.

본 연구에서는 두께가 얇고 간단한 구조를 갖는 V-type 초음파모터를 설계하였다. 얇은 판형 스테이터 구조는 소형 정밀 기기용 액추에이터로서의 역할이 가능하고, 회전형 및 선형 초음파모터로 제작이 가능한 장점을 가진다. 스테이터는 ‘V'형태의 얇은 금속판의 아랫면과 윗면에 길이방향 진동을 갖는 압전세라믹이 접합된 형태이고, 두 leg가 결합되는 모서리 부분에서 생성된 타원변위를 로터에 전달하여 움직임을 얻어낸다. 유한요소해석 프로그램(ATILA)을 이용하여 최적설계된 모터를 제작하고, 운전특성을 측정하여 소형 정밀기기에 적용이 가능함을 확인하였다.

Generating characteristics of cymbal type piezoelectric transducer depending on changes in materials and thickness of elastic bodies were studied. Cymbal type piezoelectric transducer is well known model in the piezoelectric transducer fields. Particularly, the transducer has good characteristic for stress of low frequency. Shape of the transducer is that the elastic bodies of cymbal type are attached to upper and bottom of the piezoelectric ceramic. The principle of generation is to generate larger displacement of the ceramic because applied vertical stress is transformed into horizontal stress by slope angle of the elastic bodies. This study was based on the previous study on generating characteristics of cymbal type transducer depending on shape of the cymbal cap. To define generating characteristic depending on changes in materials and thickness, simulation was performed by FEM program. From the simulation, the model of high efficiency could be chosen.

In this study, a coupled standing wave-type ultrasonic motor is proposed and analyzed. A prototype of the motor was fabricated by using a v shaped SUS stator which consist of two ceramic pieces attached on upper surfaces. Principle of the motor is to apply alternative voltages which have 90 phase difference to attached ceramics, and then elliptical displacement is generated at tip of stator. As a result, the slider was driven by frictional force and the revolving direction of tip is same to slider direction. To obtain analysis result, FEM(finite element method) was used by ATILA 1.4.5. Design Variables is chosen as the size of the stator and ceramics. The arm, leg and angle of fabricated motor is 6 [㎜], 7 [㎜] and 75°, 95° respectively. A deformation amplitude of about 0.16 [㎛] can be obtained by applying a 70 [V] voltage. Likewise, maximum speed of the motor represent 0.08 [㎧] at 70 [V] voltage.
