Romberg's disease (progressive facial hemiatrophy) may involve any or the superficial facial tissue, affecting overlying skin, subcutanocus tissue, underlying muscles, and the cartilages and bones as well in some instances. There is no proved cause for this disorder. In general the atrophy progresses very slowly and has its onset in the adolescent or young adult. The defect is usually limited to the field of distribution of one of the branches of the trigeminal nerve. Coup de sabre deformity is one of chief but not constant entities of this disorder, which reveals a sharp boder line that demarks the abnormal from normal side of the forehead, as if the patient had been struck with a sword or saber down through the middle of the forehead. After the active process has subsided, pre-designed silastic sponge insertion produces dramatic improvement in the appearance of these patients.

As physicians were have the obligation to restore the injured patient to the best possible condition from the stand point of appearance, function and return him to a useful and active life as soon as possible. Orbital fractures are increasing with the escalation in the number of automobile accidents and the automation in the industry. The proper treatment of blowout fractures of orbit is part of the working knowledge of the experienced plastic surgeon. Recognitions of the problems and early diagnosis have done much to prevent permanent disability and deformity. Surgical exploration reveals the typical blowout fracture of orbit through the thin portion of the orbital floor with intrapment of the inferior rectus muscle and fascial expansions. Surgical disengagement of the muscle and repair of the floor by a thin silastic sheet sucessfully relieved the patient's complaints such as diplopia and enophthalmos. Here, selective, proved workable method of repair of blowout fractures have been presented and illustrated.

Eight cases of struma lymphomatosa confirmed by operation and microscopic study are reported because of the paucity of the reports on this condition occurring among Koreans and to emphasize the awareness of this disease among clinicians, especially surgeons for the proper management of the patients with goiters. These cases are found among 167 thyroid operations at the Severance Hospital, thus the incidence being 4.8%. All eight cases are found among female. The average age is 46 years, the youngest being 28 years and the oldest 59 years. The constant complaint is bilateral enlargement of the thyroid of firm and rubbery consistency. Dysphagia is predominent symptom and the others observed are tachycardia, palpitation and husky voice. The basal metabolic rates are within normal limit. In one case. in which carcinoma is suspected and subtotal thyroidectomy performed, the postoperative course is complicated with myxedema. The low incidence of r ostoperativemyxedema in this series is apparently due to inadequate follow-up. The pathologic features, grossly and microscopically are described._ Diminution of size of follicles, depletion of colloid in most follicles, oxyphilic change of thyroid epithelium, marked lymphocytic infiltration, lymphoid follicles with germinal center, mild to moderate fibrosis are observed microscopically in all cases.
