The object of this work is to analyze the macroscopic spray performance and atomization characteristics between diesel and biodiesel fuels. In this study, the effects of mixture ratios of biodiesel fuel on the spray tip penetration, fuel injection rate, spray cone angle, and the atomization characteristics such as droplet size, droplets distribution, and spray arrival time according to the axial distance were investigated at various injection parameters. It is revealed that the injection rate is more affected by injection pressure than mixture ratio. And, the spray development process is closely matched between diesel and biodiesel fuels. However, the droplet atomization characteristics of biodiesel shows deteriorated results as the mixture ratio of biodiesel increased because of the high viscosity and density.
환원-확산법에 의해 제조된 Sm-Fe 합금분말의 질화거동 및 자기특성에 미치는 Mn첨가 효과

In the present study, we systematically investigated the effect of Mn addition on nitrogenation behavior and magnetic properties of Sm-Fe powders produced by reduction-diffusion process. Alloy powders with only $Sm_2(Fe,Mn)_{17}$ single phase were successfully produced by the reduction-diffusion process. The coercivity of $Sm_2(Fe,Mn)_{17}$ powder rapidly increased during nitrogenation and reached the maximum of 637 Oe after 16 hours. After further nitrogenation, it decreased. In contrast, the coercivity of $Sm_2Fe_{17}$ powder gradually increased during nitrogenation for 24 hours. The coercivity of $Sm_2(Fe,Mn)_{17}$ powder was higher than that of $Sm_2Fe_{17}$ powder at the same condition of nitrogenation. It was considered that the Mn addition facilitates the nitrogenation of $Sm_2Fe_{17}$ powder and enhances the coercivity.
다단 분사에 따른 바이오디젤 혼합 연료의 분사 및 연소 특성

The object of this work is to investigate the effects of biodiesel fuel blends with diesel fuel and split injection on spray and combustion characteristics. The biodiesel blended fuel with 20% volumetic ratio injected from a common-rail injection system at various injection duration. In the spilt injections, the total energizing duration of pilot and main injection was set constant as 1.0㎳. A ICCD camera was employed to analysis of spray visualization such as spray development process and for injection rate measurement, the fuel injection rate measuring system was adopted. The fuel atomization performance such as Sauter Mean Diameter(SMD) was analyzed by phase Doppler particle analyzer system. The combustion characteristics were studied through 4 cylinder common-rail test engine. The results show that the biodiesel blended fuel and split injection were little effected on macroscopic spray characteristics in spite of different injection duration and fuel properties. In the case of pilot injection, the combustion pressures are increased than the pressure of single injection in a diesel engine.
