An efficient Video Dehazing Algorithm Based on Spectral Clustering

Zhao, Fan,Yao, Zao,Song, Xiaofang,Yao, Yi Korean Society for Internet Information 2018 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.12 No.7

Image and video dehazing is a popular topic in the field of computer vision and digital image processing. A fast, optimized dehazing algorithm was recently proposed that enhances contrast and reduces flickering artifacts in a dehazed video sequence by minimizing a cost function that makes transmission values spatially and temporally coherent. However, its fixed-size block partitioning leads to block effects. The temporal cost function also suffers from the temporal non-coherence of newly appearing objects in a scene. Further, the weak edges in a hazy image are not addressed. Hence, a video dehazing algorithm based on well designed spectral clustering is proposed. To avoid block artifacts, the spectral clustering is customized to segment static scenes to ensure the same target has the same transmission value. Assuming that edge images dehazed with optimized transmission values have richer detail than before restoration, an edge intensity function is added to the spatial consistency cost model. Atmospheric light is estimated using a modified quadtree search. Different temporal transmission models are established for newly appearing objects, static backgrounds, and moving objects. The experimental results demonstrate that the new method provides higher dehazing quality and lower time complexity than the previous technique.

Analysis of Strong Stress Concentrations of Key Joints for Super-Spanned Steel Truss Bridges

        Cong Li,Zixin Song,Guanghui Xia,Xiaofang Kang 대한토목학회 2023 KSCE Journal of Civil Engineering Vol.27 No.7

In this paper, the strategy of three scales was proposed to analyse strong stress distributions of key joints during the incremental launching construction. Firstly, the internal forces and reaction forces were obtained by the finite element method (FEM). Secondly, some key joints were separated from the whole structure. The displacements and boundary conditions of the separated joint were taken from the results of the FEM. Then the stress distributions of the separated joint were successfully obtained by using the FEM. Thirdly, the local stress concentration areas were separated from the key joint structure. The high stress distributions of the local stress concentration region were successfully obtained by using the extended boundary element method (XBEM). On the other hand, the stress of some joints were measured through mechanical test on the construction site. And calculation results of the FEM and XBEM were in good agreement with test results. A multi-scale method is developed to obtain the strong stress concentration during the construction of the super-spanned steel truss bridge accurately, which enables the safety of the construction. In addition, the present method can be further used to guide the design of super-tall building, super-spanned bridge, etc.

Atractylenolides (I, II, and III): a review of their pharmacology and pharmacokinetics

        Mao Deng,Huijuan Chen,Jiaying Long,Jiawen Song,Long Xie,Xiaofang Li 대한약학회 2021 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.44 No.7

Atractylodes macrocephala Koidz is a widelyused as a traditional Chinese medicine. Atractylenolides(-I, -II, and -III) are a class of lactone compounds derivedfrom Atractylodes macrocephala Koidz . Research intoatractylenolides over the past two decades has shown thatatractylenolides have anti-cancer, anti-infl ammatory, antiplatelet,anti-osteoporosis, and antibacterial activity; protectthe nervous system; and regulate blood glucose and lipids. Because of structural diff erences, both atractylenolide-I andatractylenolide-II have remarkable anti-cancer activities, and atractylenolide-I and atractylenolide-III have remarkableanti-infl ammatory and neuroprotective activities. Wetherefore recommend further clinical research on the anticancer,anti-infl ammatory and neuroprotective eff ects ofatractylenolides, determine their therapeutic eff ects, aloneor in combination. To investigate their ability to regulateblood glucose and lipid, as well as their anti-platelet, antiosteoporosis, and antibacterial activities, both in vitro andin vivo studies are necessary. Atractylenolides are rapidlyabsorbed but slowly metabolized; thus, solubilization studiesmay not be necessary. However, due to the inhibitory eff ectsof atractylenolides on metabolic enzymes, it is necessaryto pay attention to the possible side eff ects of combiningatractylenolides with other drugs, in clinical application. Inshort, atractylenolides have considerable medicinal valueand warrant further study.
