        시각약자를 배려한 공공역사의 사인 색채환경 평가 -서울시 주요 지하철 역사를 대상으로-

        (연구배경 및 목적) 모든 사용자의 편의성을 고려한 유니버설디자인(Universal Design)이 주요한 사회이슈가 되고 있으며, 대중교통시설에서는 시각약자도 불편함 없이 이용가능한 공공사인의 색채시스템 구축의 중요성이 높아지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 공공공간의 효율적인 공공사인 컬러유니버설디자인 환경 구축을 위한 방안의 제고를 기본적인 목적으로, 주요 서울시 지하철 역사의 공공사인을 대상으로 현황문제점을 도출하고 개선방안을 제시하고자 한다. (연구방법) 본 연구에서는 공공공간에서 요구되는 사인색채 및 공간환경 구축과 관련된 이론적 토대를 정리를 바탕으로, 서울시의 주요 환승역을 대상으로 공공사인의 색채시스템에 대한 현장조사를 실시하고, 현황특성과 문제점을 파악한다. 다음으로 조사 분석 결과를 정리하여 공공공간에서 사인색채 시스템 구축을 위한 요소를 정리하고 개선방안을 제안하고자 한다. (결과) 조사 분석의 결과, 국내 대중교통시설의 공공사인의 컬러유니버설 환경은 접근성은 다소 양호하였고, 소재와 색채, 크기, 레이아웃의 통일성도 열악한 것으로 파악되었다. 또한 사인의 디자인이 체계적이지 않고 무분별하게 설치되어 정보의 파악을 더욱 어렵게 하고 있었다. 공공사인의 색채도 대비가 약한 배색, 과도한 광고물의 색채, 가독성의 저하된 사인으로 인해 공공사인의 색채 인지성과 함께 사인정보 파악을 어렵게 하고 있었다. 따라서 이러한 문제의 해결을 위해서는 공공사인의 색채개발과 함께 공공사인의 시인지성 향상을 위해 과도한 대중교통시설의 광고물 색채 규제 및 디자인 가이드라인이 요구된다. 특히 광고물의 크기와 규격, 채도 규정을 적용하여 쾌적한 정보획득환경의 구축이 시급히 요구된다. 이를 위해서는 지하철역과 같은 교통시설 전체의 이용환경을 고려한 컬러유니버설디자인 환경시스템 구축이 필수적이다. 특히 지하철 출입구에서부터 교차로, 주요광장 등 이동 동선 전체에 시각약자의 색채인지성 향상에 기반을 둔 정보획득을 위한 환경 조성이 필요하다. 또한 이를 위한 제도적 장치 및 지방자치단체와 관련부처의 공간조성계획에 대한 규정마련도 중요하다. (결론) 대중교통시설의 공공사인의 컬러유니버설디자인 개선을 위해서는 공공사인의 색채에 대한 연구, 색채가이드라인의 개발, 광고물 색채의 규제, 지하철역과 같은 교통시설 전체의 이용환경을 고려한 컬러유니버설디자인 환경 시스템 구축이 요구된다. 본 연구가 시각약자뿐 아니라 모든 대중교통의 사용자들에게 보다 쾌적한 사용환경의 개선에 기여하길 기대한다. (Background and Purpose) Recently, incorporating a universal design for amenities used by all of the society has become an important issue. In particular, an environment that incorporates color in the universal design to aid the visually handicapped with public signage and in public transportation facilities is becoming increasingly important. The purpose of this study is to propose a universal design solution of color-coded public signage for the visually handicapped in public transportation facilities based on data from a field survey conducted at the main subway station in Seoul city. (Method) The research methods are as follows: 1) the contents of assessment of color-coded universal design are derived through analysis of existing research; 2) the assessment items for color-coded universal design of public signs are arranged through an expert questionnaire survey; and 3) examination of the situation and problems surrounding the public transportation facility through a survey of public signage in the main subway station in Seoul city, and suggesting improvement methods according to the assessment results. (Results) The results of the survey assessment indicate a poor environment in terms of color-coded universal design in material, color, mass, and layout, as well as access environment have a low good situation. Due to numerous kinds of public signs and advertising, it has been difficult to understand to recognize information by color. Thus, to improve signage through universal color design, a public transportation facility needs to build a system with specific guidelines for signage colors, while regulating advertising colors simultaneously. Such a basic design guidelines are required to improve signage visibility in the interior spaces of public transportation facilities. Furthermore, the establishment of a universal design color system must consider the entire transportation facilities environment, such as subway stations. It is essential to create a basic environment for information understanding based on a systematic survey and analysis of color recognition for the visually handicapped, taking into account the entire movement of subway entrances, intersections, and major public squares. To this end, it is important to prepare regulations on institutional devices and space plans for local governments and related administrative departments. (Conclusions) This study has an important implications as it was derived from a field survey on color public signage for the blind, the elderly, and pedestrians. This study will contribute suggestions for improvements on public signs in public transportation facilities, such as subways and bus terminals, for all users―including the visually handicapped.

      • 공공건축물의 내외장 환경색채 경향 분석

        This study intends to suggest methods to improve environment color of public architecture based on local landscape identity. We investigated the environment color trend and material of main public architecture in Seoul-city through the analysis of color measurement and observation survey. The target of the research was a government building, the museum, the station, and library located on Seoul city and Gyeonggi-do. To achieve this goal, we conducted critical literature review about the trend of environment color and material in public architecture mainly a government office and then identified its characteristics by comparing a museum architecture and a traffic building. We carried out a color trend of public architecture that consist of glass and metal panel have a BG, B, PB croma and high value, And all survey target showed uniform color pattern and material. Finally, we propose improvement methods of color designing on a public architecture. The study suggested the value of a sustainable color design of public architecture and the relationship of a local identity color.

      • Development of rapid on-site diagnosis method for Allomyrina dichotoma Nudivirus using loop-mediated isothermal amplification

        In 2015, we reported a viral disease extremely fatal to Allomyrina dichotoma larvae spread in the majority of the larva-rearing farms in Korea. Currently, the virus-infected larva is diagnosed by PCR-based amplification but this requires laboratory equipment and agarose gel electrophoresis. Loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP), a highly sensitive DNA amplification method, uses DNA polymerase isolated from Bacillus stearothemophilus and a set of six primers. It has great potential for field use because DNA is amplified under single temperature and the overall reaction completes in 30 min without laboratory equipments. Here, we report the development of on-site diagnosis method for Korean horn beetle larva infected by Allomyrina dichotoma Nudivirus.

      • Study on Change Tendency of Exterior Color in Apartment Housing

        Since its development in the beginning of the year 1961, it has become a major residential area in Korea, being deployed in earnest, and has gained the advantage of housing supply and land use since the 1970s. Currently, apartment buildings account for about 60 percent of the total residential units, and the exterior color of apartment buildings has been enhanced to a stabile color design with a low chroma and diverse material expressions, allowing for the surrounding landscape. However, this study focuses primarily on the planning of the color scheme and the analysis of brand image. Therefore, an objective trend analysis of color apartment colors in Korea will play an important role in the improvement of an environment color design of local apartment colors in the future. Therefore, this study will examine the changes tendency in the exterior color and materials and reflect changes in the preference of the user"s public housing of the apartment building built from the 1970s to 2010s in the metropolitan area. Methods of this study are research related to the research and planning trends in the environmental colors of the apartment buildings, the process of changing the environmental color of apartments is determined by analyzing existing research materials and photographs of the constructed apartments, identifying a change tendency of the environment color of the apartment buildings in Seoul City and Gyeonggi Province, and proposing improved methods of environment color in the apartment building. As a result, the overall view of the apartment environment color is improved landscape and locality, and the landmark of symbolism is somewhat lower. This is the result of a change of the public perception of the public property as a public asset and increasing the landscape management of the police by the government. It is also reflected in the tendency to decrease the color of a large apartment complex, thereby reducing the color of scenery and applying sustainable materials.

        Exosome isolation from hemolymph of white-spotted flower chafer, Protaetia brevitarsis (Kolbe) (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae).

        Exosomes are homogenous vesicles of 40-100 nm diameter produced endogenously. Exosomes are generated by inward budding into multi-vesicular bodies (MVB) and then released to extracellular space. Exosomes contain various nucleic acid and protein cargoes from their cells of origin and this endosomal cellular molecules are used for intracellular communication and for both promotion and suppression of immune responses. Recently, they are also considered as delivery vehicle for therapeutic proteins due to their characteristics of stability in body fluids and ability for target uptake. Also, they show less immune reactivity because the isolated exosome harboring therapeutic proteins can be from the same host. White-spotted flower chafer, Protaetia brevitarsis is one of the major insect commercially reared in Korea. There are bacterial and fungal pathogens causing diseases in the beetle, and these diseases incur economic loss to the larva-rearing farms. Due to their endosomal cargoes, exosomes are good candidates in use of disease diagnosis. In this study, we isolated insect exosome from the hemolymph of P. brevitarsis, and verified it by analysis of the exosome-specific surface proteins and RNA.

      • Exosome stability after long term storage isolated from hemolymph of Allomyrina dichotoma (Coleoptera: Scarabeidae)

        The exosomes are the most studied nanometer-sized extracellular vesicles (40-100 nm) in eukaryotic cell. Exosomeharbors various molecular components of their cell origin, including nucleic acids and proteins, and it is involved in intraand intercellular communication. These characteristics make exosomes to be a prospective biomarkers, therapeutic agents,or drug delivery vehicles. Edible insect industry is rapidly growing up in Korea. The insect exosomes were isolated fromthe larvae of Korean rhinoceros beetle, Allomyrina dichotoma, and White-spotted flower chafer, Protaetia brevitarsis, sothat they can be used for diagnosis of insect disease. The stable preservation of exosome is very important for diagnosisand research, especially for long term storage. Here, the stable recovery of exosome isolated from hemolymph of A. dichotomalarva was evaluated by analyzing exosomal protein and RNA after storage in -70°C for three months.
