      • Clinical Comparison between Paclitaxel Liposome (Lipusu<sup>®</sup>) and Paclitaxel for Treatment of Patients with Metastatic Gastric Cancer

        Aim: To compare the efficacy and safety of paclitaxel liposome (Lipusu$^{(R)}$) with paclitaxel in combination with tegafur and oxaliplatin in treating patients with advanced gastric cancer. Materials and Methods: Patients with advanced gastric cancer receiving chemotherapy were retrospectively collected, and divided into two groups. Patients in group A received paclitaxel liposomes at a dose of 135 $mg/m^2$ on day 1 of each cycle, and patients in group B were given paclitaxel at the same dose with the same timing. All patients received tegafur at a dose of 500 $mg/m^2$ on days 1-5, and oxaliplatin at a dose of 80-100 $mg/m^2$ on day 1 for 2 cycles (each cycle was 21 d in total). Results: Fifty-eight patients could be evaluated for efficacy. The overall response rate was 47% in group A (14/30), and 46% in group B (13/28). Disease control rate was 73% in group A (22/30), and 71% in group B (20/28) (P>0.05). No significant differences were detected in hematologic and neurologic toxicities between the two groups (P>0.05). However, nausea, vomiting and hypersensitive reactions were significantly lower in group A than in group B (P<0.05). Conclusion: Paclitaxel liposomes are as effective as paclitaxel when combined with tegafur and oxaliplation in treating patients with advanced gastric cancer, but adverse reactions with paclitaxel liposomes are less common.

        1인 미디어 시대 중국 개인방송 왕홍(網紅)의 PR 활동에 관한 연구

        본 연구는 1인 미디어 시대에 SNS를 기반으로 실시간 방송을 통해 제품을 소개하고 판매하는 중국 개인방송 왕홍의 PR 활동 연구를 통한 제품 홍보 마케팅 방안 모색에 관한 것이다. 연구 내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 1인 미디어 시대에 중국 왕홍의 개인방송에 관한 이론적 고찰을 통하여 중국 1인 미디어 개인방송의 현황과 PR 활동의 효과를 이해한다. 둘째, 중국 1인 미디어 개인방송에서 왕홍이 소개하는 제품에 대한 PR 활동 사례 조사 및 분석을 통해 그 특성을 살펴본다. 셋째, 중국 왕홍의 개인방송에 나타나는 제품 홍보특성을 PR 활동의 관점에서 그 특성을 도출한다. 본 연구의 결론은 첫째, 왕홍은 SNS 스타로서 광고 모델이 되어 소비자의 구매 의도를 높이는 콘텐츠를 제공하여 PR 활동을 하는 경제적 매체라 할 수 있다. 둘째, 왕홍의 개인방송 PR 활동 사례에서 왕홍은 제품소개, 제품 시연 및 체험, 제품 후기 및 홍보, 팔로워관리와 같은 다양한 콘텐츠를 제공하는 경쟁력을 가지고 있었다. 셋째, 왕홍 경제는 중국에서 마케팅 이슈로 PR 활동, 플랫폼 기술의 발달, 소비 심리의 변화, 산업의 변화와 같은 다양한 요인이 배경이 되었다. This thesis is about the PR (public relations) activities of Chinese online celebrities in the we-media era, which aim to sell commodities through SNS live streaming. Research contents of this study are as follows: first, the actual situation of individual online live show in China as well as the efficiency of PR activity in the we-media era with a theoretical investigation of the SNS live streaming. Second, the features of the PR activity cases that online celebrities advertise merchandise in personal live streaming which have been carried out through investigation and analysis. Next, the characteristics of the advertisements in personal live streaming from the concept of the PR activity. This thesis has reached several conclusions: first, as SNS superstars together with models of the products, these online celebrities broadcast information to customers to impulse purchasing; they can be regarded as economic media with PR activities. Second, the PR activities of online celebrities are competitive because of its affluent contents, including product presentation, experience sharing, post production and advertisement of the product and management of the fans. Next, Internet celebrity economy has already become a hot topic in Chinese PR activity field as it has been pushed be numerous factors such as the development of the platform technology, changes in the consuming phycology and the trend of the industry.

        A Survey of Transfer and Multitask Learning in Bioinformatics

        Machine learning and data mining have found many applications in biological domains, where we look to build predictive models based on labeled training data. However, in practice, high quality labeled data is scarce, and to label new data incurs high costs. Transfer and multitask learning offer an attractive alternative, by allowing useful knowledge to be extracted and transferred from data in auxiliary domains helps counter the lack of data problem in the target domain. In this article, we survey recent advances in transfer and multitask learning for bioinformatics applications. In particular, we survey several key bioinformatics application areas, including sequence classification, gene expression data analysis, biological network reconstruction and biomedical applications.

        Some Observations of the Influence Factors on the Response of Pile Groups

        A simplified approach for nonlinear analysis of the load-displacement response of pile groups embedded in multilayered soils is presented in this work. A hyperbolic model is used to capture the relationship between unit skin friction and pile-soil relative displacement developed along the pile-soil interface and the stress-displacement relationship developed at the pile end. Considering interactive effect among piles, the parameters related to the hyperbolic model of an individual pile in a group can be computed. As to the analysis of the response of pile groups, a highly effective iterative computer program is developed using the hyperbolic model of an individual pile in a group. The efficiency and accuracy of the present method is verified using a well-documented field test. Furthermore, a parametric study is conducted to capture the influence of pile spacing and number of piles on the load-settlement response of the pile groups connected to a rigid cap. The pile-group settlement ratio and the pile-group resistance ratio are analyzed to assess the interaction effect among individual piles.

        Hypoxia Mediates Runt-Related Transcription Factor 2 Expression via Induction of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor in Periodontal Ligament Stem Cells

        Periodontitis is characterized by the loss of periodontal tissues, especially alveolar bone. Common therapies cannot satisfactorily recover lost alveolar bone. Periodontal ligament stem cells (PDLSCs) possess the capacity of self-renewal and multilineage differentiation and are likely to recover lost alveolar bone. In addition, periodontitis is accompanied by hypoxia, and hypoxia-inducible $factor-1{\alpha}$ ($HIF-1{\alpha}$) is a master transcription factor in the response to hypoxia. Thus, we aimed to ascertain how hypoxia affects runt-related transcription factor 2 (RUNX2), a key osteogenic marker, in the osteogenesis of PDLSCs. In this study, we found that hypoxia enhanced the protein expression of $HIF-1{\alpha}$, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), and RUNX2 ex vivo and in situ. VEGF is a target gene of $HIF-1{\alpha}$, and the increased expression of VEGF and RUNX2 proteins was enhanced by cobalt chloride ($CoCl_2$, $100{\mu}mol/L$), an agonist of $HIF-1{\alpha}$, and suppressed by 3-(5'-hydroxymethyl-2'-furyl)-1-benzyl indazole (YC-1, $10{\mu}mol/L$), an antagonist of $HIF-1{\alpha}$. In addition, VEGF could regulate the expression of RUNX2, as RUNX2 expression was enhanced by human VEGF ($hVEGF_{165}$) and suppressed by VEGF siRNA. In addition, knocking down VEGF could decrease the expression of osteogenesis-related genes, i.e., RUNX2, alkaline phosphatase (ALP), and type I collagen (COL1), and hypoxia could enhance the expression of ALP, COL1, and osteocalcin (OCN) in the early stage of osteogenesis of PDLSCs. Taken together, our results showed that hypoxia could mediate the expression of RUNX2 in PDLSCs via $HIF-1{\alpha}$-induced VEGF and play a positive role in the early stage of osteogenesis of PDLSCs.

        Oxytocin-induced endothelial nitric oxide dependent vasorelaxation and ERK1/2-mediated vasoconstriction in the rat aorta

        Oxytocin is a neuropeptide produced primarily in the hypothalamus and plays an important role in the regulation of mammalian birth and lactation. It has been shown that oxytocin has important cardiovascular protective effects. Here we investigated the effects of oxytocin on vascular reactivity and underlying the mechanisms in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) in vitro and in rat aorta ex vivo. Oxytocin increased phospho-eNOS (Ser 1177) and phospho-Akt (Ser 473) expression in HUVECs in vitro and the aorta of rat ex vivo. Wortmannin, a specific inhibitor of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K), inhibited oxytocin-induced Akt and eNOS phosphorylation. In the rat aortic rings, oxytocin induced a biphasic vascular reactivity: oxytocin at low dose (10<sup>-9</sup>-10<sup>-8</sup> M) initiated a vasorelaxation followed by a vasoconstriction at high dose (10<sup>-7</sup> M). L-NAME (a nitric oxide synthase inhibitor), endothelium removal or wortmannin abolished oxytocin-induced vasorelaxation, and slightly enhanced oxytocin-induced vasoconstriction. Atosiban, an oxytocin/vasopressin 1a receptor inhibitor, totally blocked oxytocin-induced relaxation and vasoconstriction. PD98059 (ERK1/2 inhibitor) partially inhibited oxytocin-induced vasoconstriction. Oxytocin also increased aortic phospho-ERK1/2 expression, which was reduced by either atosiban or PD98059, suggesting that oxytocin-induced vasoconstriction was partially mediated by oxytocin/V1aR activation of ERK1/2. The present study demonstrates that oxytocin can activate different signaling pathways to cause vasorelaxation or vasoconstriction. Oxytocin stimulation of PI3K/eNOS-derived nitric oxide may participate in maintenance of cardiovascular homeostasis, and different vascular reactivities to low or high dose of oxytocin suggest that oxytocin may have different regulatory effects on vascular tone under physiological or pathophysiological conditions.

      • A Wireless Sensor Network Clustering Algorithm based on Hypergraph

        The paper proposes a clustering algorithm for wireless sensor network based on hypergraph. Under the hypergraph model, a wireless sensor network is mapped to a hypergraph. Then a hierarchical iterative clustering algorithm is applied to the hypergraph, thus dividing the hypergraph into multiple parts. A cluster head is selected from each part. In order to improve the partitioning process, a new modularity function is proposed. Compared with the classic clustering algorithm LEACH, simulation shows that our algorithm performs better in energy consuming and network lifetime.

      • Clinical Safety of Chemotherapy for Elderly Cancer Patients Complicated with Hypertension

        Objective: To access the safety of chemotherapy for elderly cancer patients complicated with hypertension. Methods: Elderly cancer patients who were complicated with hypertension and treated by chemotherapy were recruited. All patients were treated by chemotherapy after an intervention on hypertension by psychotherapy, exercise guidance, salt regulation and nutrition support, therapy on hypertension, as well as prevention on hypertension associated complications. Results: In 68 eligible patients, two suspended chemotherapy because of adverse reactions and 4 because of disease progression. The remaining 62 patients completed chemotherapy smoothly based on good hypertension control. Conclusion: With effective control of blood pressure, chemotherapy for elderly cancer patients complicated with hypertension is generally safe.
